Promenada Israeli girls sellin cream:)

Recommended Posts

In that shopping mall, are those girls(that look like men)still there?
They used to sell an Australian brand, Organi at one of the stalls. The creams are expensive, nobody would buy them, so `girls` who are kinda good at being dumb and acting like a cheap sl... are hired to somewhat boost sales.

I believe i have seen other posts about them, so obviously i am not the only one who took note, that there is a circus in town.

Nothing against Israeli's as they were very kind to me when I visited their country, but those people in the malls in C.M. (not sure if they are in BKK too - probably), are the most aggressive sales people I've seen in Thailand. Even more so than the Thais selling those skin treatments. Israeli's, in general, are aggressive; especially when trying to sell something.

They are selling 100% Israeli products, something from salt from the Dead Sea - not Australian products. They are at Prom, MAYA, and Festival. I don't really understand what the Israeli men do, other than standing around looking cool and chatting on their mobiles.

Yeah was waiting for the g/f in a mall in Singapore and one pounced on me selling oragani, bloody good cream, but at circa. 600 £ even ending up at 300 for a tube ridiculously expensive, yeah pretty aggressive sales, i told her right from the start i wasn't gonna buy so her slight histionics at the end just added to the entertainment.

My Gf and I sat down with one of the guys. I just wanted to hear the shpeel.....The guy could talk. His approach just went from one angle to the next. I knew from the start I wasnt going to part with any cash. We had some time to kill before the movie. We were so luck as just the minute before we got there they had recieved two new products. And.....because he liked us so much we could have the dead sea mud for free. The manuka honey however was 20k for six oz. but if he could get my gf's line.....and she was willing to report to him how it was working. We could have it for 10k.....

Isn't that manuka honey supposed to bee the best honey in the world and comes from New Zealand and not at those prices.

They are prevalent in almost every shopping mall on the West Coast of US, even on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki near the hotels.

Sure some are illegal but probably many are students. (Can work 20 hr per week, hard to enforce). 10k for six ounces

of any type of honey is absurd.

Not sure what your definition of 'best honey in the world" is but It tastes OK IMO and yes is from NZ Manuka tree, but also from Australia.

Mainly promoted for its supposed health benefits as a topical application for open wounds and external ulcers.

Supposedly helps healing and is touted as a good infection fighter.

The price is way over the top for what its supposed benefits may or may not deliver.

Rimping also stock manuka honey from NZ. Airborne brand and it aint cheap... over 1000 baht for about 250 gms. Not sure of the price in NZ nowadays as I havent been back for about 7 years.

Personally I actually preferred clover honey

This scam is played by Israelis , usually in shopping malls, in a number of different countries.

It isn't just Thailand.

Sound like good candidates for an immigration tip-off.

I'm sure their documents are all in order. They are too high profile.

Why are you so sure? Not easy to get work permits to sell cosmetics I would think.

A couple of months go was $NZ 25 for 500 gms.

More than double the price of normal honey. bah.gif

Don't be ridiculous, if they weren't 'kosher' then I'm sure they wouldn't be so out in the open.

Are you really the type of person that tips off immigration, about something that's none of your business? bah.gif

I don't think my point was ridiculous - given their aggression they may think laws are for other people.

No I probably wouldn't report them myself, just putting it out there for fun. That said, as we are part of a society, people breaking laws is everybody's business.

Forgetting immigration issues which is a Thai police concern, I don't really see this as a scam. They hard sell but people buy stuff with free will and they get an (overpriced) product in exchange. Now if the salts are from the grocery store, well, yes, that would be a scam but I've never heard that charge for these vendors.

The only people in Chiang Mai that have any concern about farangs having a work permit are - farangs. The fact that those who do question work permits, like yourself, also suggest that immigration should be notified is as a good an indicator of the pitiful character of some of the local expats as any. The fact that you are, as Uptheos suggests, that sort of person, is sad on many levels. A Snitch? You should be ashamed of yourself.

Some of us here go back to the days when expats took care of and looked out for each other.

You think Thai people don't care about Thai immigration and work laws?

I'm not a snitch, as my previous reply indicated. However I am interested in why you think snitches should be ashamed of themselves. Have you spent time in prison?

Actually it's Stasi. But thanks for the ludicrous comparison and reiteration that I should be ashamed of being a snitch even though I'm not one.

In more than 20 years of being here I've never heard a Thai question whether or not a farang has a work permit, but on forums such as these I've heard it hundreds of times - it would practically count as being a Pavlovian response here, on account of it being so knee-jerkingly predictable.I imagine that if a Thai ever did question a farang's work permit status, it would at least be on the basis of them being directly affected,as opposed to you guys that would do it purely out of spite.

Your reply that it was somehow a joke is the typical response of someone that gets found out and the fact that you follow that by trying to justify your statement only goes to highlignt your insincerity. As regards to your questioning my integrity, that is the other natural response of scoundrels - attack the accuser.

Don't be too sure.

An 82 year old woman in New Zealand was recently scammed out of $5000, emptying her bank account.

The Kiwi Income Property Trust which owns the Lynnmall shopping centre evicted the Dead Sea Spa, but the Israeli owners and employees did a runner before legal proceedings could begin against them.

The Sunday Star-Times revealed how Israelis selling Dead Sea products in malls had come to the attention of Immigration NZ and other government agencies. When immigration cops raided the Sylvia Park shopping centre in Auckland they shut down one kiosk where three salespeople were working illegally on visitor visas, but by the time they arrived at a second kiosk at the other end of the mall, the workers had fled.

The Star-Times approached several who claimed they were unpaid "volunteers" who were selling the products "for Israel". They could not say who they worked for.

Who is this jerk?

An opinionated and pompous one for sure! (don't be ridiculous...)

Who would ever be so presumptive to say (then I'm sure they wouldn't...)

There is a lot of trash in this forum that needs weeding out!

Personally, I agree with what he says. As for his choice of words, again, fine by me, but if they bother you, you have to bear in mind that he is responding to someone encouraging snitches. Edited by Chiengmaijoe

The original post was about creams and dumb girls and we ended up discussing doin time in prison and snitches, lol.
The particular girls, i was talking about do sell Australian stuff, the Organi brand is from there.
Regardless of the idiots, who work there, the products are actually good and they do work. Because of that, i bought some stuff there, that company is known for sourcing the best natural ingredients.
