A good friend of mine had some very sad news last night his mother suddenly passed away, he wants to fly as soon as possible back to the uk but wants to bring his Thai girl friend and there 1 year son, unfortunately they did not apply for his British passport yet and would take to long to apply now, how easy would it be to get a visa for his son ? He is pretty sure his girl friend will be ok as she used to live in the uk.

Thanks for your help.

Do you know if she has some form of visa for the UK? You need to check what she has.

Missed that bit!

Even if she has ILR, this will lapse if she has been living continuously outside the UK for two years or more. It may be accepted for a visit though.

Thanks for your feedback, he contacted the British embassy for a emergency travel document but they can't do that, so has a applied for his sons British passport today at treaty house, they have put a note that it is urgent and the reason why so let's see how long it takes.
