UK visa for a 1 year old

Featured Replies

A good friend of mine had some very sad news last night his mother suddenly passed away, he wants to fly as soon as possible back to the uk but wants to bring his Thai girl friend and there 1 year son, unfortunately they did not apply for his British passport yet and would take to long to apply now, how easy would it be to get a visa for his son ? He is pretty sure his girl friend will be ok as she used to live in the uk.

Thanks for your help.

Worth contacting the Embassy to see if they will issue an Emergency Travel Document.

It does state that you can't usually get this for someone who has not had a first passport but there is a link from that page to the Embassy.

Tend to agree that it will not be easy!

Do you know if she has some form of visa for the UK? You need to check what she has.

Missed that bit!

Even if she has ILR, this will lapse if she has been living continuously outside the UK for two years or more. It may be accepted for a visit though.
