Sor por gor land reclamation 428390 hectares

Featured Replies

Does anyone have any reference or places to read up on the government's plan to take back sor por gor titled land in 25 provinces (428 390 hectares)? It refers to restoring land under section 44 to be submitted to the council of ministers on the 14 June.

Please keep politics out the discussion. Interested in more info. Like many who have families who have this type of possesory titled land. Or whose spouses bought this land.

No knowledge of this news but that's 2.67 million rai of farming land..... just imagine the amount of families will be displaced and the idea itself is against the King's teaching.

I can not see it happening. They may go after people who have 100 rai 500 rai of this land. Like Austin said how many people would this displace.

I read someplace (other paper) that they were going after those who claimed ownership of large farms, say in the 2 to 3000 rai

range. This land can be passed down on death, but cannot be sold and no commercial buildings can be built on it. It can be used for ag use only, but as we know laws are ignored every day here.

If my memory serves me right, I read some time ago, that it's all about landowners that has acquired several hundred rais of land, which is not the purpose of the Sor Por Gor land titles; presume normal farmers has nothing to fear.
