Several restaurants, massage parlors found built illegally on Phuket beach

PHUKET, 17 June 2016 (NNT) - A team of soldiers and local authorities is planning to visit the beach in Takua Pa district, Phuket province, where restaurants and massage parlors were found to have been built illegally.

Owners of beachside restaurants and makeshift massage parlors have been trying to dismantle their wooden shops, after being told they have encroached onto Pak Weeb beach and need to leave in 15 days.

Most establishments belong to local residents. The residents have only one more day left before the authorities resort to legal action against them.

According to the report, many vendors have called on the local Damrongtham Center to allow them to stay on the beach until they can find suitable places to relocate.

That beach and district are in Phang Nga, not 'Phuket Province'. Glad to see though they're taking action there as well.
