khwaibah
Kap Choeng Immigration name has been changed to SURIN IMMIGRATION. Photo was just taken. This sign is out on the 214 highway entrance.
MJCM
Maybe the name change is because of the opening of the new Immigration office in Buriram somewhere in July ?

Toknarok
Apparently Buriram Province is the only province in Thailand adjoining another Country that doesn't have an immigration post with that Country. As for the Buriram post opening in July I will believe it when I see it is up, running and fully functional. For over 25 years we have been promised that this post will be open 'soon - soon'. No wonder folks in this part of the woods are somewhat sceptical.

Linesy
Buriram Immigration Office will be located in Buriram City Hall and expected to open 15/16th July "2016". City Hall is the large complex on the 226 adjacent to the old football stadium. There was plenty of parking last time I was there for other matters. Perhaps the thread title should be modified to alert Buriram residents of the change? Edited July 4, 2016 by Linesy

Not saying there may be an official opening on the 15 BUT immigration is never open on a Saturday or Sunday anywhere in Thailand. You need to come up with better dates. I am so sorry, I must come up with better dates. Arrrrghh! These are the dates that I have heard from other people who recently went to Kap Choeng and I couldn't be bothered to double check which days they fall on as I do not need to go to immigration for some time yet. Anyone who must know the exact dates should call Immigration directly or wait for confirmed postings. Edited July 4, 2016 by Linesy
Toknarok
So it would appear that Buriram residents from mid July (never mind the date) will have to go to Buriram Town to do their 90 day reports, extensions etcetera. The cross border post at the end of Soi Tho Hok (as yet unnamed AFAIK) in Bankruat District will just be a crossing point into Cambodia. Most patrons will be gamblers patronising the casino being built on the Cambodian side I suppose.. Thank goodness my wife doesn't gamble, but I know (seriously) of a few farangs in this district whose wives like to 'have a flutter' and are worried about the closeness of this casino to home. Dumbastheycome
Yes,yes. "please" Touching brow as I write. The 'speculative " unconfirmed" location would appear to be correct. Not just because glorious google nominates it but because I asked a senior Immigration officer today as to the actual location. 3rd floor in said building in Buriram, opening on the 20th of this month. And the border crossing for cheap consumables will be a little ( ?) more formal than is currently.
