I think its everyone who needs to open their eyes... Cyclists, Drivers, Authorities... When we have a sitation where there exists significant speed and size differential between road users then inertia and mass such that the inattentive will not have time to react. Is road design and visibility an issue ? Is speed an issue ? Is driver training an issue ? (all of the above). Example: Rounding a blind bend in the UK a few weeks back to end up on the back wheel of a cyclist... I was careful, aware something could have been around that blind bend and was able 'not to hit the cyclist' (or whatever else could have been there)... Why ?... driver training ??? ... Perhaps, but I haven't been driver trained for 30 years... so why wasn't I tearing around that corner at the legal road speed ??.... The answer I fear, is fear... fear of hitting someone and behind held accountable - and therein lies the issue - there are people on the roads to whom this fear either cannot be understood because they are simply dumb, or they are both arrogant and reckless and think it wont happen to them.. ... and the cyclists when using the road have to take an element of the 'arrogant and reckless and think it won't happen to them' because why else would they ride on roads where two tonne items can speed past them at 60 kmh ?... particularly Thai roads ??? Drivers of course at fault - but roads were never meant for such speed differentials... 80kg of cyclists at 30kmh and 2 tonne of metal at 60kmh... But what can you do in a country where the police ride helmetless down a pavement / sidewalk ? -

The look like professional riders not just a guy riding his bike if you see a team of cyclists like these you give them room by that i mean give them plenty of room if you want to overtake them. This idiot either didn't see them or just thought I'm in a car move over no respect. So he did what they all do when they make a mistake they do a runner once he is arrested I hope they charge as well with leaving the scene of an accident.- 1

Work Permit Self Employed
Hi guys, I will try to explain my situation: I'm a self-employed digital marketer, and as a consultant I have 5-8 customers that I work with during the year. Besides this, now I manage some Patreon channels that will be my only source of income in the next few months (I will quit my consulting job). I don't actively work on these channels, I just receive my earning part as "original founder". What would be the best for me now that I will move to Thailand and spend more than 6 months there? Should I apply for a tax ID even if I don't have a work-permit visa? (thinking about DTV or eventually Elite) Thank you -

If there is a pack of dogs, definitely more than three and maybe as low as two - and you hurt one of them, the others come for you. If you go down or even if you run, things get very bad for you. I had a nasty dog experience where the pack leader began barking and growling (in a park area near Big Buddha Pattaya, and dogs appeared from everywhere. I am fairly certain there were more than 50, all barking and growling. I was alone. Eventually, they lost interest and went back into the undergrowth, except for the pack leader, who kept following me and growling. I quickly looked for an escape route that would not confront the dog, and it immediately bit my calf. the canine deeply punctured, and the other teeth cut my skin, causing bleeding through my clothing. 5 expensive rabies injections, immunoglobulin, and wound dressings followed. I am a pensioner, so expensive. I wrote on the forums, and all I got was a tirade of dog lovers hating bitten humans. I am sure that if the Thais licensed a non-Buddhist per problem area to clean up the problem once a month with a quick bullet, the cost would not be high, like the failed programs to neuter the animals. A designated disposal arrangement could be organized. Or use the tourist police to supervise. There are enough ex-military here who know gun safety. The people bitten did not cause the problem, so they should not be penalized. Poisoning is generally a very cruel death, so Thais may be more accepting. By the way, any market has chopped up chicken, beef, and pork, and some places have alligators and field rats, none of which died from old age. Therefore, the Buddhist argument does not seem to be sustainable. Every couple of days, I see a pack of dogs chasing both Thai and tourists off a walking pavement into traffic. Up to a dozen 'pets' terrorize people walking. A local vendor feeds them in a bus parking area near Cozy Beach. -
