Swedish Bar Owner In Knife Fight

Who is to say that the Swede/Turk? :o wasnt in the wrong in the first place. To assume the Thai was in the wrong without the complete story is a bit of a worry. We have all seen some farangs drive stupidly as well as some Thais. There is nothing to say that the Thai wasn't in the right in the bingle.

It is worth remembering that sometimes we "blow up" after being a victim of a thai injustice one time to many, maybe a Thai can "blow up" when being seen as insignificant one time to many

Just a thought

sounds the Swede was defending himself.

dont tell us , go tell the injured thai , his brothers , his uncles , his cousins and all his mates.

If you read the article (can you read english would be my first question), the motorcycle driver followed the car driver after a road accident. Then it was a fight, the 2 persons were separated, one going to his own place the other quickly following him to restart the argument/fight.

I think, obviously, the guilty for any result is the motorcycle driver, who looked for problem (maybe for more problem that he can handle if I believe the final result : he got injuried).

Obviously to, if while I'm driving a motorcycle I hit your car, you will not be happy, but if I follow you, and call you by names (such as fool, moron, or e-dok ....) how hapy will you be, and if you decide it's better to cal down and go back to your kitchen I decide to follow you and restart to insult you, how will you react?

Right now, because the ######er who drived a motorcycle was thai we have to agree he have all rights? The nationality does not matter, the acting matter. The guy by 3 times acted like a total moron, and finally get what he was looking for.

Hey sting you are missing the point that taxexile is making. Who is right or wrong doesn't enter into the equation anymore.

Regardless of the fact that the Swede was followed into his own bar and confronted, the fact remains that the Thai guys friends and family would/could/might/will exact revenge on him.

I think that taxexile read the situation correctly, obviously his comprehension skills are more adept than yours! :o

We have NO idea what the whole story was khunandy, I was speculating on the minimal information contained in the news clipping, WHICH IS ALL WE HAVE to go on. I just do not assume that the farang was wrong (or had a choice!) which as you state " is a bit of a worry" but something I have grown used to here on TV :D

Believe me I don't want to be the guy trying to stop an angry surly mob from enjoying an immensly satisfying group bash :o However someone should toss the cold water to keep the hysterical ones from losing it completely

Mr Ikea should just wake up and smell the opportunity and take it like a man.

When some see doom, I see opportunity.

MrIkea could offer the guy an eye for an eye event, stand still and let the thai guy return the slash, even throw in an extra one for face.

MrIkea could be tied to a post in his bar, sell tickets and make a nice quid out of it also, even video it and sell it on ebay as a slash video.

I am available for agent if he requires, I can produce and edit the movie also.

This story is completly and utterly false. I can only imagine that the Phuket Gazette only interviewed the Swedish man and not his three victims or the many witnesses. I am rather aghast at their dishonesty.

Here is what actually happened.

Nuttaveth was drinking in the bar next to the Swedish man's when two of his customers called him over to talk to him. They were all extremely drunk and merry.

The Swedish man thought that Nuttavuth was coming to start a fight so he got a very large knife (over 6 inches) and stabbed him repeatedly injuring him very seriously.

Nuttavuth ran off towards Patong hospital. The Swedish guy chased after him, the shop owners from the clothes shops nearby tried to stop him. He then slashed the owner of Mam's clothing shop , the manager of Ammy's Coffee Shop and smashed a chair repeatedly over the barman from the Walkabout bar.

Only the Swedish man was arrested.

He will have to pay compensation to the guys he stabbed or go to court.

His bar is for sale now.

If you need any confirmation you can ask any of the shop owners next to Patong Gym. I suggest the Phuket Gazette should do this and get the real story.

Swedish bar owner in knife fight

PATONG: -- Bar owner Nicolas Cazus, 40, from Sweden, slashed a Thai man with a knife in a fight over a collision with a motorcycle in the early hours of November 7.

Pol Lt Col Pisit Chunpet told the Gazette that police responded to a call from Cazus’s bar on Soi Sainamyen at 3:45 am.

He explained that Cazus had just parked his car in front of his bar when Nuttavuth Palee, 26, pulled up on his motorbike.

The two men began to argue over a collision between the two vehicles earlier that resulted in Cazus’s car being scratched. The men soon started fighting in the street, causing people in the bar to come out and separate them, Col Pisit said.

Cazus was led to the bar’s kitchen, but Nuttavuth, still angry, followed him to continue the conflict.

The fight flared up again and Cazus picked up a small knife and slashed Nuttavuth across the cheek and across one leg, he added Nuttaveth was treated for his injuries.

Both men were arrested and taken to Kathu Police Station.

No, I wasn't there happily :o

I was there the next day and got the same story from many independent witnesses.

I did see the wounds on the owner of Mam's clothing store and the barman.

My wife went to see the Thai guy in hospital. The police only charged the Swedish guy.

The story about the motorcyle seems like a red herring. Also the time of the incident was early evening as the shops were still open.

Incidentally the price per person stabbed is 200,000 Bath with 50% to the police.

With all due respect to the gravity of his (the Swede) situation, and the rather painful situation of the Thai victims, I am wondering if at B200,000 per he might negotiate some kind of "group stabbing" discount.

After all the police only had to arrest him once and T.I.T. anyway. :o

200K for a stabbing?

Driving over a kid in BKK is 10K... :|

Perhaps it's just another dual-pricing...

Its getting a fair bit of press this and Sweden is a main tourist provider for Phuket and Khao Lak.

I am finding that the more cars that appear on the roads, the less people are prepared to put up with the apalling standards of riding, espescially by motorcylists.

Road rage is certainly increasing and with the amount of guns on the island, sooner rather than later, some of these goons on motorbikes are going to be called to account. As a lot of car owners are now Thais the police cannot just keep blaming the falang and turning a blind eye.

A 10 year old uninsured motorcycle causes a lot of damage and grief to a proud new car owner, falang or Thai.

I use a car and a bike there's nothing between them. The driving standards of both are appalling and there's a big difference in the amount of damage some oversized pickup (that no one needs here) can do in a collision I can tell you! Amazing how well trained European drivers who reside here then appear to drive to the lowest common denominator like the majority of Thai's rather than set a good example - both in cars and on motorcycles.

Most of it though is made no better by the dreadful road planning of junctions and the like which even when followed correctly have no right of way. A classic example must be the back entrance to Big C and the exit road which crosses the main road from central leading to Patong. Terrifying whatever your driving.

A story in today's Thai Rath about one Kevin Smith , 36, English tourist stabbed (not fatally) and robbed in Ko Samui yesterday. According to the article he was riding home on his motorbike at night when three guys pulled alongside on bikes and kicked him off. They stabbed him in the ribs near his heart before taking his money. Just thought I'd mention this while we're on the topic of farangs and violence in Thailand.

About a week ago as I recall, another farang got stabbed and robbed in Pattaya according to the same paper. Pity the English language Thai press don't have a weekly column devoted solely to this sort of news.

ps I'm not saying though that Thailand is any more dangerous than lots of farang hometowns.....far from it.

My wife went to see the Thai guy in hospital.

The one you claim he stabbed repeatedly, the one you claim he slashed or the one you claim had a chair smashed over his head repeatedly?

Nuttawut (Yord) the Thai guy. I had a drink with him last night, he is a very pleasant and peaceful guy - an engineer. The Swedish guy just went nuts - alcohol to blame.

  • 1 year later...

Found this today and think it was interesting reading about me. Just a lot of bullshit like it use to be in Thaipapers when its something about a thai and a farang. Im surprised not many of you have used you brain and tried to think a little bit before you made you comments. How many time does thai papers write that the thai is wrong and the farang right? Guess your IQ isn’t very high.

First of all, I have never been driving a car in Phuket, so I have of course never been in a collision. I have never owned a car, not even in Sweden. So forget everything about a traffic incident.

My name is wrong and I was 36 when all this happened.

Now Im gonna tell all you***flame removed*** who wrote a lot of bullshit about me what happened.

First he and the bartender in the bar started a fight with a thai in the bar beside mine, Walkabout, ended up with the thai running away and the bartender and the other thai throwing bottles after him.

After that the drunk thai took his motorbike and started to drive. Without a reason he started to shout and give one of my customers abuse. My customers didn’t say anything but the thai took his motorbike drove straight in my bar knocking down tables and chairs. Then he was going to attack my customer but before he had a chance to hit him I hit him first, stupid of me but I just had enough of all thai men getting drunk and then want to start a fight with a farang without a reason. But by experience I know that If I just tried just to stop the fight he would start to fight with me anyway. And im not a coward who’s going to let one of my innocent costumers get beaten up by a drunk and probably on drugs troublemaker.

It didn’t take many seconds before he and FOUR of his friends started to hit me with BOTTLES. Have any of you ever seen a thai fight without a weapon? And how many of them fight alone?

I was lucky and protected me good so I didn’t get any in the head. To protect myself I got in the bar and took the chef knife we had there. They still tried to hit me with the bottles so I stabbed the one who started the fight in the leg and slash his face. They still tried to hit me with the bottles so I had to case them so they runned away. The idiot who started the fight broke the thai record on 100m when I chased him away.

After that they were around ten person throwing bottles on me, of course none of them had the guts to try to fight me when I had the knife. This went on until the police came.

How many of you have seen a thai fight WITHOUT a bottle or other weapon?

How many of you have seen a thai fight ALONE with a farang?

How many of you have seen a thai papper write the truth?

After this I saw the bartender who was in the fight around 30 times, he never ONCE looked at me, and trust me, I was looking at him a lot. Im not the guy who run away or try to avoid a fight if someone challenge me. Thai men are just a bunch of half retarded cowards who can’t do anything without a lot of friends and weapons. I was waiting for the “revenge” many of you wrote about but nothing happened, maybe they knew I wouldn’t be the only one going to get hurt? I’m not like most of you farang wanke_rs in Thailand getting scared and running away when these retarded monkeys start to fight with you. I stayed in Patong eight month after this happened and the revenge never came. Or do they need more time then eight month to come up with something? They didn’t have the guts to do something.

***flame removed*** I thought Nuttavuth was going to fight with me???

When he and four of his friends start to hit me with bottles I don’t think, I know they want a fight. ****, I repeatedly stabbed him??? I stabbed him once. Im surprised he runned at all but im more or less sure he was on drugs. You cant runned after what I did to him without it. And the other people I stabbed? What the fuc_k are you talking about? Not even the laying Thai paper mention them.

And the chair on the barman in Walkabout? HE took a chair when the police came and hit the police with it. If he did something like that in my country he would he on the ground in 3 seconds, handcuffed with a lot of police giving him a hard lesson. But in a banana country like Thailand the police didn’t do anything, can say that it surprised me. They took him to the policestation as a witness.

Like taxexile said, WHERE YOU THERE? And don’t you think it’s strange that the coffebar owner and a shopowner still are there around 2.00 AM. The ones you said I also stabbed. The coffebar closed 10PM every night.

You heard about the incident from many independent witnesses. Yes, it’s usually many people there 2.00 AM, shops are open at that time? Most of the bars were closed, as you know that area didn’t have any people at all and the bars closed were early and the shops before midnight.

If you live in Thailand you know if you try to think that Thais not exactly are famous for telling the truth, it’s a fuc_king custom there to lie about everything. And make up stories. Guess everyone was there in the middle of the night and saw everything. One shop was open and my bar, Walkabout and maybe another bar.

I wish I could meet you, see you in front of me and look in my eyes and tell me that I did this bullshit you wrote here. I didn’t run when ten Thais attacked me, I didn’t move until eight month after this happened so you can imagine what I would do with you.

If you want to see me you got my email now I guess. A lot of Internet tough guys here, writing bullshit about me and an incident you don’t know anything about. Would be fun to see you end up in the same situation as I did. Five thais hitting you with bottles, guess most of you would end up in hospital or dead and the lucky ones running away without the thais catching you.

Reading back through the posts i can only see Patongpanda's post's which could (if not true) be classified as "bullshit"........ :o

Thais are tough
Yeah, some are. But a blanket statement like that is just plain silly.

Now if by 'tough' you mean using weapons, sucker punching or being backed up by half-a-dozen mates when fighting westerners, then I would agree with you.

How many of you have seen a thai fight WITHOUT a bottle or other weapon?

How many of you have seen a thai fight ALONE with a farang?

How many of you have seen a thai papper write the truth?

Gotta admit. He does have a point.

Though it would be interesting to hear the Thai's story.

Wow ... I always thought Patong was a family place for a cheery G&T with the wife and kids...

Why would anyone spend time at these places...Drunks everywhere fueled with Viagra surrounded by middleaged Chavs with big attitudes and bellys to match.

I'm surprised one of the many ex SAS that frequent these bars didn't jump in to fold the offenders in half.....

I was little bit upset when I wrote it yesterday, guess it was Patongpanda who made me so pissed off. The guy "know" what happend becurse he talked to thais who even wasnt there...

I paid some money for this incident, cant remember how much. Stayed another eight month in Patong without any problems. After that Pattaya, and other Souteast Asia countries.

--> Doro22, haha, guess you are one of the AIK boys. I been wanting to get my hands on Itchy for a long time. Was in Skara when our boys meet yours running around shouting for him, realized after that its a made up guy. Quite funny that I been upset on a person who doesnt exist. So yes, im home again but leaving soon again, Phillippines next destination.
