He will be ok, good timing, he can sell up all his Thailand investment properties and buy a lovely little bedsit....

It does take a mammoth effort to rattle the Thais , he has done well....Andrew Drummond will be very happy,

The truth has come to the surface......

Another quality "knob!" Wish I worked for the local police....I could pick out the over stay and trouble makers in a heart beat....can count them on both hands each day I go for a walk in and around Pattaya.....maybe they wash-up from Pattaya Bay.....?

The only way to 'pick out' overstayers is to check their visa status in their passport.

I imagine most people you see on your walk in around Pattaya daily, probably have a legit visa, or other legal permission to stay from the immigration department.

Many of the overstayers would actually have a record of where they stay on last entry - most people are honest up until they go on overstay. Most people either stay there - or very close by. (just printing out a list and going through one by one - you would have detention centers full.

Immigration could offer official finders fees (maybe 10% of the fine) for anyone who reports someone on overstay.

People on overstay will "have a tell" (in most cases)... i.e. If you see police and they are not just sitting on their hands but maybe saying "hi" to passers by a person on overstay may move to avoid - and police elsewhere could just look out for this. Not to mention the eyes will often give you away.... someone that looks at the officer then immediately the eyes dart away noticeably (i.e. to the opposite side not in the direction they are going).

Simply put, it would be fairly easy to net a high number of people very quickly if they wanted.

You are wrong about him not being able to get a visa.He cant leave the country without permission from the courts but he can get his passport back from the court.

And he can also be kept on given 30 day extensions from immigration while he is waiting for his case. All he has to do is go to the court be given paperwork from the court about his case the dates have it signed by judge only takes a few hours then bring the paperwork down to immigration they will give you visa 30 days each time until case is finished.

Going by his record (criminal, and otherwise) I think that going to a court and asking a judge to sign papers on his behalf would probably be the last thing he would think about doing!

Why not? If there were warrents he would of been arrested already. Most of his cases hadnt finished in court yet.He goes to room number 4 at the court tells the girl he needs papers to bring immihration she hands them to a judge who signs. They dont do a background check. You go back get them and bring to immigration. His avoidance had just made things worse for himself

Seems like there is a lot of opportunity for Thais to crack down on foreigners in Pattaya and other areas. They should ask for criminal background checks from the foreigners home nation before giving retirement and long term stay visas. They could get rid of many people early. They also should investigate who owns the bars in Pattaya and if they are a foreigner if they really are complying with the law in terms of employees and ownership rules etc. Old folks who are sucking off of the Thai government health care should be sent back home to be taken care of or die. Thais shouldn't have to pay for abusers. And that monthly money coming into Thailand for retirement visas should be checked much more thoroughly as well as claims by some of having the hundreds of thousands of baht in their bank account. And on the other end all the Thai over-stayers in other nations should be immediately deported to be fair.

Are you for real?

They know who owns bars here already. It's not illegal to own a bar either!

Sucking of the Thai health care system? Who? Where? How much?

What business is it of your anyway?

Your name should be changed to brain dead.

Nice, "This farang is causing me trouble" is enough to start an investigation. Samesame "I don't like him". Food for thought for those wanting to work without a work permit, have a nominee company for land ownership, etc.

Either the IQ is of the lower score variety...or we have a person of low esteem...trying to find a way to express his ignorance...

Maybe he was desperate for attention and enjoyed making himself a 'piblic' nuisance! smile.png

"It was found that Mathews was named as a defendant in six cases being considered by Pattaya courts and a directive had been issued to stop him fleeing the kingdom."

How can he be in "overstay" if he is not allowed to leave Thailand by a court directive?

Something fishy here.

Nothing saying in the report when the 587-days Oversray started.

Very possible the 587-days were accumulated by the time the order for his arrest was issued by the court.

What difference if they include the time since the order for his arrest.

"piblics" system ?

Somewhat "funny":

a directive had been issued to stop him fleeing the kingdom.

Isn't this a license for overstay? biggrin.png

Absolutely stunning when you google for "Andrew Ronald Mathews".

A criminal record going back years.

Already been imprisoned in Thailand.

A word of wars and lawyers with prominent names involved (Andrew Drummond).

A here unwanted source calls him a "keyboard warrior".

Seems like he has defamed/abused Thai persons on the internet.

Silly to read this report like they "just found out".

The pubic system will get you-behave.

Not being able to flee Thailand was issued because of the cases brought up in court. He is still obligated to report to immagration about one and a half yeas ago.His status would have been sorted then but maybe he stayed away our of fear of being arrested again. What an stupid axxhole.

We all know if you upset the wrong people then there is a good chance the law will come down on you and if you think you can fight and win with a bunch of guys that will always have the upper hand then you are kidding yourself if you think you can just talk your way out of such situations.

Even if you some how manage to talk your way out you would have to be a nut case to keep on antagonizing the situation to the point where they just whack you good and then kick you out of the country.

For Exapmple: Anyone in Pattaya know where Tim Sharky is now .....after aggressively confronting the police and publicizing it all over the world.

Just one more example of talking when you should be listening.

Cheers

this knumbknut is but a bit of practice for the BIB,

before they tackle the Ruskies mobs

at least the public reaction is reinforcing the BIBs' actions this time - they need a bit of the good old Positive Encouragement

Causing trouble to Thai people?

He was on overstay, surely he should have been keeping a lowprofile, not upsetting Thais.

Brain dead springs to mind. Idiots like him make things more difficult for all farangs.

Kick him out blacklist

Why would it be hard for the rest of us,"Good Guys In,remember.
