August 3, 20169 yr Was curious to know if anybody was aware of an American reality series called "Better Late Than Never" filming in Chiang Mai in the last year? It "stars" William Shatner, Henry Winkler, George Foreman and Terry Bradshaw as four old guys backpacking through Asia, as they can't find anything else to do it would seem. The series is being promoted on NBC to start on August 23rd. Can imagine that those four characters would have a hard time being low profile while in CM.
August 4, 20169 yr Anybody been able to stream or buy the Swedish series "30 Degrees in February" about a group of people sick of winter who moved to Thailand?
August 4, 20169 yr So, yes apparently. Could be fun, or it could be a toe-cramping disaster. The latter is a lot more likely, of course. (It looks heavily scripted, making it kind of semi-reality at best. Like Top Gear et al) http://www.ew.com/article/2016/05/13/william-shatner-nbc-henry-winkler-george-forman http://www.nbc.com/better-late-than-never/video/anything-can-happen/3077870 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Better_Late_Than_Never_(TV_series)
August 4, 20169 yr I went to CM in 2009 and I am pretty sure I am the FIRST American ever to see parts of the jungle near Doi Pui!!!!! For only 1,000,000 baht an episode, I can walk the Sunday Market and make faces!!! Smile and act lost!!!! Ride motorbike and act scared!!!! I'm calling the Oscars....
August 4, 20169 yr 3 of my childhood heroes - George, William and Henry. If anyone hears they are in town, let me know.

Really good series, I found the first season on youtube, that is the best season. Not sure about English text. You can also find it on svtplay.se but there is no English text.

A lot of Scandanavians died in 2004, and many of the relatives who came here for the anniversary (December 26th remember) took a liking to Phuket and switched their usual long holidays in Spain for the Thai version. They also bought a fair bit of property, too.
August 4, 20169 yr From IMDB: Quote This hilarious fish-out-of-water comedy/reality show follows cultural icons Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Terry Bradshaw and George Foreman on their greatest adventure yet. Deciding it's Better Late Than Never, these four national treasures embark on the journey of a lifetime, traveling across Asia on their own with no schedule and no itinerary. The only "help" will come from Jeff Dye, a young, strong, tech-savvy comedian with an agenda of his own - who isn't above leading the men off track. Each stop is packed with hilarious cultural experiences, heartwarming spectacles and unexpected twists as our legends take on this unforgettable adventure.
January 28, 20179 yr Really good series, I found the first season on youtube, that is the best season. Not sure about English text. This one might be abandoned soon.Sent from my R2D2 using my C3P0 manservant
January 28, 20179 yr I have offered both of us (Orang and human mind-souls in a human-form meat package much the worse for wear) to Discovery's Animal Planet channel for a very reasonable fee per episode, pointing out to them that they have never covered chimeric entities, like us. While my 2009 proposal to the Chiang Mai Zoo for a "live farang exhibition" was, regrettably, ignored : Proposal to Chiang Mai Zoo, 2009 : I think if Animal Planet were on-board, the Zoo would find that as irresistible for bringing happiness to the people as pandas. imho, Chiang Mai's gaggles of bedraggled farangs have many schizophrenics who could pinch-hit if we ran short of true chimerae, like us. cheers, ~o:37;
January 28, 20179 yr Like most American shows, it's a rip off of a British series, in this case " The Real Marigold Hotel". This follows the ventures of aged pensioners looking at retirement in foreign lands. In this series is the most revolting person ever to walk the earth, the self opinionated, hypocritical, argumentative Miriam Margoyles. You have to have one "in your face" person to make the series. I wonder which of these four will be the bad guy? Probably worth watching.
January 29, 20179 yr I watched one episode on Australian late night TV..., it was the episode where they road tested some spicy Thai meals..., and Willian Shatner's pants...., and yes, I thought it was heavily scripted.
January 29, 20179 yr I thought Henry Winkler is dead! Appears to be an internet hoax from a few years ago.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

January 30, 20179 yr I downloaded the first four episodes, and decided to watch the one on Thailand first. I was fascinated by the videography, impressed with some of Shatner's and Winkler's comments about the culture, and then deleted all the other episodes from my hard drive without watching them.

I found "A Thai Goodbye" episode listed in IMBd but can't in my usual downloading places. Where did you download it from? Thanks
