Suzuki Caribbean Engine Transport Options ?

Featured Replies

Hi All, could you please advise me of the available engine transplant options for my 1997 Suzuki Caribian, manual transmission. The 1.3 engine is worn, needing piston rings and valve gear needs attention.

I would prefer if possible to keep the existing gearbox set up.

Would it have fuel injection, if so I assume the original fuel pump will need to be changed, but keep the original fuel tank.

The car has LPG mixing, should this be changed.

Thank you in anticipation.

Tom

I've seen Mazda rotary engines transplanted into Caribbeans.  But not here.  Go great.

Rotary has no torque if in boggy conditions....

I've seen one with a 2.8 Nissan engine in it.....

Probably gets better mileage than the oe engine too.....
