Where can I buy a drafting table?

Featured Replies

I work casually on illustrations in my free time and want to set up small home office for that purpose.

I want to buy a drafting table to work on, but I'm having a hell of a time finding one in Bangkok!

For those who don't know, a drafting table has a top that tilts upwards, usually to an angle of about 30 degrees with adjustments below that (just search the term and you'll see pictures).

I've checked at various furniture stores in Siam Paragon and Central World, and none of them even know where I would find a drafting table.  The B2S in Paragon had some kind of kiddie drafting tables, but they weren't really adult sized.  This table at Office Mate isn't ideal (small size for the inclined bit), but even if it were, it's waaaaay overpriced.  A mediocre drafting table can come in below USD100.  I'd pay more than that, but not ten times that amount for less than what I want.

I also wondered around a bit outside Silpakorn University, because I heard there were a lot of art stores outside the school.  But they were all holes in the wall--probably great for picking up supplies but not large enough to have a selection of tables.

So I'm kind of at a loss here.  I can't get any hits at Lazada at all.  My only thought is to run all over to various B2S stores and see if I can find a larger selection (my Thai isn't good enough to call ahead).  Can anyone recommend some larger art supply department stores?

Thanks for your input!
