Prawit says he won’t spare anyone in the bomb attacks

BANGKOK: -- Deputy Prime Minister in charge of security, Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, today declared adamantly to decisively deal with the people who are responsible for several bomb attacks at the country's tourist spots.

“I will not spare them no matter who they are,” he declared.

Gen Prawit said this morning that the bomb attacks at Hua Hin and Trang were related, and perpetrators meant to destroy the tourism climate of the country as all bomb blasts occurred at tourist locations.

The prime minister was informed of the bomb attacks and has ordered authorities on full alert to safeguard tourists, he said.

Gen Prawit’s strong reaction came as three bombs exploded at 10 am in Takua Pa district of Phang Nga province.

Two bombs detonated by mobile phones happened near Takieng restaurant, and the third explosion about 30 metres away.

All explosions happened near a weekend market which was destroyed in an arson last night.

Does he mean, like the  shambolic Bangkok temple investigation? Where the BBC found part of the bomb! Of course they could use the famous bomb detector!

Can the government really safeguard tourists?  This is not a good sign.  Thailand is such an easy target for all bad dudes wanting to do bad things.

Long term expats nationwide should be getting their post-bombing police and immigration visits sometime this month if the post-Erawan bombing police visits were any indication.

You aren't a baby in a pram, no government can protect you from terrorist attacks or road accidents or robbery or a heart attack, it's called living in this world, get used to it

Time to load up on those thick wads of Baht.  That should motivate the boys in brown.

Tragic none the less. Whilst the damage is not extensive, its a further nail in Thailands tourism coffin :(

Erm... quite a misleading headline...

yeha!, with words like:

Prawit says he won’t spare anyone in the bomb attacks

you'd think he was the terrorist,

who planted the 'smoking  bomb' himself,

and embarrassed that he missed some of the infidel  targets

Way to go chubby cheeks its all about tourism tourism tourism tourism nothing else matters. Keep them cash registers ringing

Apparently mobile phones were used to detonate the bombs. No all SIM cards are registered it should be easy to find the perpetrators.

Or, more likely, the whole SIM card registration system is a total waste of time and money.

"and perpetrators meant to destroy the tourism climate of the country as all bomb blasts occurred at tourist locations. "

I think the government has managed (or mismanaged) to destroy the tourism climate on their own...

It is possible the gentleman on the left who is laughing suffered a brief moment of flatulence as the General made his entry.

If only they could track the tourists via something like a SIM card....

We once had that place to ourselves. Pre Russian and Chinese invasion, of course.

Has anybody heard yet if the police have decided to offer a large reward for themselves again if they catch the alleged perpetrators of this week's bomb attacks???

It certainly worked before [for them], so why not try it again???  :whistling:

Ohh, BTW, how many of the dozen plus named Erawan bomb suspects who supposedly fled to foreign countries have the Thai authorities managed to find and or get into custody all these months later?

True, but many countries have foiled "attacks" before they have happened, something Thailand is usually incapable of doing, they simply do not have the intelligence gathering abilities.
