So what I want to know, do I have to wake up to close the windows in the middle of the night or not? How about my happiness? Who is responsible? :P

I myself blame Brexit ! :)

The gentle rain began late-evening in Mae-Jo, and eased-off by breakfast-time, if that was all there is then I don't understand the warnings, and it will have done little to ease the dry conditions.

perhaps hope for a resumption, and in fuller force, later on today ?

Yeh a bit of a let down ,steady light rain in Hang Dong all night but not nearly enough to get a lot of run off. Accuweather was predicting a tropical  rainstorm, their heaviest rain rating but it didn't happen. The weather predictions are notoriously  unreliable but the satellite picture did look promising.Heavy rain means full dams and a lift for the farming community.Iif anyone thinks thats not important well think it over

It`s raining and considering it is the rainy season, this comes as no surprise. On the other hand, if it was snowing, that would really be a good reason to make a thread about.

I would agree a thread about rain is not going to excite the senses like a thread on where to buy the best pizza or the best deal for 3 bottles of Chang but please consider the following.

Last "dry season" CM was close to running out of water for a rapidly growing population. In fact many areas of the country people were either driving many kms to pick up water or having water tankers delivering to their villages, eg many parts of Chiang Dao, pretty close to home.

While the dams/resevoirs were virtually empty was the opportunity to increase their volume for future dry seasons, didn't happen,no surprise there

So if the dams don't get topped up to a sustainable level this "wet" season we could go through the whole "no water" scenario again come next April/May.

Water is life, farmers can't produce without it,we can't live without it and shock, horror there might not be enough to make ice to put in our beer.:(

I was in the 7 Eleven this afternoon picking up some bacon. Well, right there in the third isle was a box of umbrellas!

On a whim...I bought one.  Well, as luck has it, I can now put it to good use!

Rain, at this time of the year !     Amazing Thailand.

Still planning a trip....so I was wondering how far south this rain is going.

Chiangmai needs more but there are parts of Thailand that need it much much more. The weather is wacky this year. My guess is this is the first real typhoon to land and there are more to come. ++
