PHUKET: -- Flash flooding brought traffic to a standstill across the island this morning after hours of heavy rains from late last night still continue to pour down on the island.

Traffic ground to a halt along several stretches of Chao Fah West Road, the Bypass Road and several spots along Thepkrasattri Road, causing major tailbacks. A few stretches of the roads near British International School were also affected, with several cars reportedly broken down along the way.

The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Phuket office is to issue a weather warning to every local office to warn residents about flash floods and possible landslides.

Really ... I noticed not much rain here in Kata ... ??

Same for me, in neither Kata nor Rawai was there much rain.

In Cherngthalay and Thalang, there has been heaps.

Probabaly slightly offf topic but it also rained very hard here in Bangkok last night during a strong thunderstom for more than an hour.

At least here on Din Daeng Asoke road.

No evidence of any flaash flooding though.

Heavy, consistent rain for several hours this morning in Chalong.

A couple of nights ago we were getting some heavy rain  from an isolated storm, when the house, or very nearby, copped a lightening strike.  My large tv seems buggered and two of the True visions boxes wont boot up again.

I would normally turn off in a thunderstorm, but there was no indication of lightning until the bolt that hit us!  So much for the expensive German surge protector.  Although It did work a split second later to leave us in darkness!

Has to go to the airport this morning. The way back, left the airport at 8.20 am arrived in Phuket Town at 10.10 am.

Traffic blocked until the traffic light to go to Laguna. Many small lakes.

...brings to mind The Biblical Way of dealing with 'ugliness'.....
