Does anyone have information about it?

Is it possible? How much should it cost? Besides Indonesia and Malesia, are there other recommended destinations?

Thanks in advance.

I suggest you do some research using Expedia. If you mean a "visa run" as opposed to an in/out for a visa exempt entry, get a combined flight+hotel booking. Remember that Malaysia and Singapore save money by not needing visas. However, Kuala Lumpur and, especially, Singapore are dangerous choices to try to get tourist visas. Additional locations to consider from CNX are Ho Chi Minh City/Hanoi (possibly visa exempt depending on your nationality), Phnom Penh, Hong Kong and Yangon. Kuala Lumpur is cheap (under 4,000 baht including hotel for a visa run, not including 50 MYR for the visa itself) but a risky proposition. Penang is more expensive but safer.

I mean an In out to a different country by air in order to get visa exempt. There might not be need to get a hotel, since there are flights leaving and returning from CNX to Syngapore and Hong Kong. But in such a case I will leave Thailand and return on the same day. Is there a chance passport immigration officials might not like it? By the way, also Hong Kong for most countries is Visa Exempt right?

Right, Hong Kong is usually visa exempt entry.

Will immigration at CNX give you a hard time entering visa exempt? Quite possibly. Immigration in Bangkok would likely be OK unless you have a prior history of visa exempt entries, but Chiang Mai is more likely to raise objections. I doubt anyone can give you the assurance you are looking for. If you want to avoid a nervous re-entry, either do an actual visa run, or fly through Bangkok and clear immigration there.

A Canadian friend of mine did the same day ,out-in, to get another 30 day in Thailand.

Took  the Air Asia direct flight Chiangmai-Kuala Lumpur in the morning ( AK855 at 09h10 )

Then he flew back Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok on Air Asia  to enter Thailand. They have many flight on AK and FD .

Then Bangkok-Chiangmai  on another flight.

He had no problem in Bangkok on his return flight the same day.

Thanks. Now my specific details, and I would like to hear recommendations: I have a passport with only the following: Tourist Visa to Thailand,  stamp at Suvarnabhumi, Extension of 30 days, Extension of 7 days (Which turns out to be or look like a rejection :( - see attachment ).

I need to leave by this Friday. Consider two options: 1. Fly CNX-Hong Kong, return the next day (wait 10 hours at the airport. There are cheap flights in this route.) 2. Make a new visa in Laos (Vientiane or Savanakeht). Which do you think is better?

That is the normal 7 days you get if you have already done the 30 day extension for a tourist visa or visa exempt entry. Or if you don't qualify for the extension. It will not effect getting entries or visas.

1. Not a problem unless you have already done several visa exempt entries. There is still the Chiang Khong crossing option.

2. Best option if you plan on staying longer than 30 days.

What's latest information on this? I want to get out of Thailand from Krabi by air to Kuala Lumpur and stay there 4-5 days and then go to Chiang Mai. Can I get my second visa exemption at the Chiang Mai airport?
