YALA:-- Suspected southern militants set fire to a telephone signaling tower in Yaha district of Yala province on Friday.
 

A police unit from Yaha police station and members of the explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) unit was dispatched to the scene where it was reported by witnesses a mobile telephone signaling tower of DTAC company was damaged believed by arson.

Is a "telephone signalling tower" a transmission mast? I gave worked in telecommunications a long time but never heard the description given in the OP

A "Cell site" perhaps? Very easy to damage, although it's a bit like shooting yourself in the foot! :facepalm::wai:
