Gunfight in Yala leaves one militant dead

RAMAN:-- A special task force of the Ranger 41 unit and police clashed this morning with southern militants  while surrounding a suspected target in Raman district of Yala.

In a brief shootout, one militant was shot dead.

The clash followed a tipoff that a group of southern militants was hiding in a house at Atakuwo village in Raman district.

As the rangers and local police were approaching the house in a pincer movement to force the militants to surrender, several gunshots were fired from inside.
