What is the criteria on the Foreign National Information Form (FNIF)???? Basically wants to know what? I have never seen or heard of this and face immigration tomorrow. Thanks for your info before hand..

Its the new form many immigration offices are now requiring when accomplishing certain actions such as extension of stay, 90 day reports done in person, etc.   Went into affect several months ago...supposedly part of the immigration's efforts to beef up its "Good Guys In, Bad Guys Out" program.

It's kinda hit or miss right now as to whether your particular immigration office will ask you for one.   I had to complete my first one last month when doing my annual extension of stay at Bangkok/Chaeng Wattana immigration.   Upon completion the immigration officers looked at it for just a few seconds and then attached it to the other docs in the application---just something they have to do.

Other folks at some immigration offices are apparently being asked to complete the form during every 90 day address reporting they do in person...not required if accomplishing the reporting online or by mail.

Yeap, hit or miss right now as to when and for what immigration office will ask you to complete the form.   Attached is the blank form from the Bangkok immigration office.   I had mine pre-completed when going to do my extension "in case they asked for the form"...

I wasn't going to include the form in my application package unless they asked....but they did ask....I then handed it to them....they glance at it for a few seconds and then just attached it to the other docs.

And here is very recent thread/poll on the subject....been quite a few threads on the subject already....now there is another one.

So if I don't fill out the form 'correctly' it will be used to declare me a 'bad man' and be forced to leave the country. Frightening.

I don't see where anybody said that. It will not happen.

I dont mind filling  in this form, last week i went for my 90 days and took the 3 forms for my friend, BUT, on the backside of the forms that I took from immigration office was already written from previous people, even a copy of a pasport of russian man.I think they want to save paper in immigration by using older forms on the backside, same for my paper for 90 days. Now i'm gonna print the backside myself with "" for official immigration use only''.so they cannot use my new made forms.

Does this form is still actual? or there is a newer?

Don't worry about it -- AFAIK it is no longer in use.

Something strange, in local immigration requested to fill this form...

Sure?

There are always some additional forms.

But this FNIF asks for social media accounts (LINE, Facebook, email adr.), vehicles used/license plate, home country address, frequently visited places (bars, restaurants), contact persons (Thai and foreigner) etc. etc.

You really filled a form with such info?

To all that I observed it was a still birth.

Even for bureau-crazy Thailand a bit too much of unused info, wasted paper.

Chachoengsao, may be it was mistake. I will visit immigration again to ask about this requirement.

At Jomtien, a friend who volunteers there, told me it was merely something that was put forth and is likely to go away soon, because of generating too much paper. Thais may have a reputation for liking paperwork, but the rank and file who have to keep track of it, DO NOT like paperwork.

I doubt anyone keeps track of it.  Just something some offices ask for sometimes...then it's just another piece of paper stapled together with that application...after approved, the application is unceremoniously thrown in some big file container, some big storage boxes,  and maybe sold as paper waste at some point.   Thai govt agencies definitely "love" paperwork....more the better...generates job security.

I imagine that the rank and file don't like paperwork because they don't know how to use it or maybe how to find it in the system.

I was amazed to be told that because I had added to my fixed account and been given a new book less than three months before renerwal that the money had not been in the bank for the required length of time. I had to return the next day with the old book, the book which theoretically they had photocopies of on file from previous applications.
