Image: Sanook PATTAYA: -- Police were called to the North Pattaya turnoff on Sukhumvit Road yesterday after a woman emerged from a car to take a swipe at an ambulance. As she brandished a three sided club she said: Why are you chasing me? The incident was radioed in my medics of Sawang Boriboon Pattaya who were taking an injured person to Banglamung Hospital on Tuesday, reported Sanook. Police went to the scene and after calling ahead managed to stop the woman at the Rong Mai Khit intersection about one kilometer away. The woman named as Sangnathaya, 39, had a three sided wooden club in her Ford Fiesta. She was incoherent. She was taken to Banglamung police station for questioning. Earlier Rachaporn Jularat of Sawang Boriboon Pattaya had called his base to contact police. He said that while he was at the red light a woman got out of a car with a club and started hitting his ambulance. He yelled out: "What do you think are you doing?" She replied: "Why are you chasing me?" He said: "I'm not chasing you. I am taking an injured person to hospital". The woman then got back in her car and sped off swerving all over the place. Rachaporn figured that she was a danger to both herself and other road users so reported the matter immediately. Banglamung police revealed that on Monday they had received another report of a woman attacking a vehicle with a club but had been unable to find the person responsible. They said Tuesday that the woman was unintelligible and clearly had mental problems. They have sent her for a psychiatric evaluation at a hospital and are trying to contact relatives at the address on the woman's Thai ID card so that there is not a recurrence.
