As the title states...

How does one print from TVF?

- No print button

- Can't save as a .pdf

- saving as .html is horrid, then that won't fully load and looks horrid.

- since when does saving a one screen webpage take 2.1 MB. Bloat.

I remember the days when TVF had a 'lo-fi' or 'printable' button.

Used FF, and IE. Same issues.

or is it that you do not want to say the truth?

'yeah we know, it's that way on purpose, and we don't plan to fix it'.

If you use Chrome, then get the extension Print Friendly & PDF

 

It allows you to edit before you save as a PDF so you can get rid of stuff you don't want.

For a forum like this it's probably not a perfect solution but better than .html

The PDF for this thread so far is only 25kb.

 

A more likely reason why there is no longer a print button... someone didn't think it mattered or they haven't got around to it with all the other bits that need fixing...

Been using Print Friendly & PDF for over a year,

Works great on most sites, somewhat works on TVF.

Note there is also a seperate button that can be 'grab-dragged' onto the menu bar.

Really good for sites that really try to block saves.

You must be also using adblock plus and no-script,

cause your pdf is small (mine was 42Kb after your post)

so is mine (small), however poor formatting so it's 3 pages to print.

 

No, it is not an oversight of the powers that be.

They left it out on purpose.

Note, no mod has touched this topic. IMO nor will they fix it.

 

 

No ad-blocking or no-script, all the posts above this one still amount to a three page PDF 44.3KB for me. Most similar extensions also manage to filter out all the ads. 

 

Have you tried pocket? It's slightly more involved but makes some very nicely formatted pages. I don't have it on this computer to test with ThaiVisa but give it a try.

 

By editing before you hit print, e.g. deleting sig. lines, member info etc.you can get the PDF down to just over 2 pages, 39KB
