Clear coating brass lamps

Featured Replies

Have a couple of hanging brass lamps that clean up a treat but tarnish quickly and looking at getting them coated. Any pointers on where I can get this done.

thanks

Once clean/polished you can spray them with clear lacquer from a spray can would be fine

Starting from Loco Elvis on the moat, head down Ratvithi Rd.

Not far down on the left you will find a small shop selling paint etc.

They have a clear lacquer in a spray can by Leyland. Less than 100B.

Thanks folks I know the paint shop mentioned.

Much appreciated.

Id add that its a very good paint shop with helpful staff and good products at good prices.  Leyland is the only brand I will use when it comes to 'rattle' cans.  To the OP.... it may also pay to get some silicon remover as if there is even a sniff of polish left on the lamp (Or any article for that matter) the paint/laquer will not stick properly.

  Preparation is the key!

Thanks for the tip. I'll pay a visit tomorrow.
