BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha has no plan to make a special announcement on nationwide television broadcast as widely speculated, government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd told a press conference Wednesday afternoon.

Speculation was rife, especially in the social media after the prime minister abruptly cut short his visit to Chon Buri and immediately flew back to Bangkok.

Lt-Gen Sansern pleaded with members of the public not to attach too much attention to or to be panic with reports in the social media whose accuracy cannot be checked. He asked them to keep abreast with government reports which are reliable and credible.

He disclosed that the prime minister flew back to Bangkok from Chon Buri in order to have an audience with HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn to give a briefing about the government’s performances.
