the President's order is subject to secondary confirmation by the Secretary of Defense. If the Secretary of Defense does not concur, then the President may in his sole discretion fire the Secretary. The Secretary of Defense has legal authority to approve the order, but cannot veto it.[2][3][4]

He can refuse the order and the president can fire him, but then the president has to convince the guy who takes over. The president can NOT act alone. Again,  protection against a madman.

lol! those goalposts gettin heavy? first u say his codes are needed then u admit he can be bypassed and the president can fire the next ad nauseum. he CANT be vetoed! try and read for a change

Brush up on your reading ability. His codes ARE needed and if he is fired the codes are passed on to the assistant SOD.

The president cannot do it alone. He has to convince someone in the chain of command to go along with him and he would be stopped by the cabinet and Congress by then. Nukes are protected against a president going postal.

They do not need to veto. They can refuse the order and he won't be able to launch before the cabinet and Congress pronounce him unfit for office. A crazy president can NOT launch nukes alone.

Two women in Florida, and a suspect in Virginia, face vote fraud charges of tampering with ballots and voter registration.
