I was in Honda Big Wing this afternoon (Thapae Road branch) and was just generally looking at bigger motorbikes.  Some time ago it was mentioned that the new Africa Twin was soon to be released but I had given up waiting.

Today the have 2 new Africa Twins in stock and they do look fantastic.  They havent put a price tag on them yet but comparing them to other bike in the shop I guess they are going to be in the range of 800k - 900k plus.  Definitely not a cheap bike....... but one can dream!

I just checked online and in New Zealand these bikes are retailing between 576k baht and 630k baht dependant on which model you pick..... the more expensive model has the Dual Clutch Transmission.

I doubt we will be able to get those prices here....TiT.

Cheers for the heads up....stupid me forgot to check their website. Also go to see reasonable price for a new big bike in Thailand. I'll wait and see if Pops rental get some on board and then take one for a few days trial.

The Triumph prices have come down considerably recently (much to the consternation of people who bought one a year or two ago as their resale value plummeted) due to the way they're now taxed (this only goes for the models produced at the Thai-based factory- you'll still have to shell out a lot for a Daytona).

A bit like the Ducati's. Ones assembled here are a lot less in price.

I just wish/hope Honda would put out a road going CRF 450 or 500.  Maybe use half the Africa Twin motor and call it an Africa Single.

I know there was a CRF450X  but I've never seen one here.

Scrambler here is 635k compared to 338k in U.K. Still hell of a difference...

True, but a base Bonneville is down to 420K, which is way less than it was a year ago- the Street Triple R is down to 460K as they're locally-made.  I don't know for sure, but I'd guess the Scrambler isn't yet produced at the Thai factory, which would mean it gets hit with massive import duty/taxes.

It's the same with Ducati and BMW- the price  of the 899 Panigale and S1000RR dropped over 200K overnight when they started to be built in Thailand.
