Hey everyone, I am getting into airsoft in and was just wondering if anyone knows any good airsoft stores to buy gear/ guns in Chiangmai

A strange first post for a newbie. 

 

I think you will find that larger "Airsoft" weapons are prohibited/restricted regards Farang ownership but you may get a basic BB gun if you look around.

There is, or used to be a shop on Manee Nopparat Road.  North end of Moon Muang left onto Sri Poom Road and take the first U turn.  If a few yards past the U turn you look at the shops, there is one or two that sell military and Police type clothing and gear.  One of those used to sell various airsoft guns. 

There's a shop called "Classic Army," just west of Tesco Lotus Kham Thiang. They have quite an assortment of airsoft guns and gear.

Scottie John, afaik, there are no restrictions on the sales of airsoft guns to farangs; we were able to purchase from the shop above without any trouble. I do recall reading, however, that they may not be carried around in public.

My advice is to join an airsoft group on Facebook and buy second hand instead of buying locally. I know from experience that it's hard to sell an airsoft gun second-hand and looking around online, the prices are crazy low. Unless you speak good Thai, you may need a Thai friend to help you. People simply post what they want to sell, you call them up and arrange to meet.  
I recommend buying used, especially if you are getting into airsoft and unsure whether you'll like it. If you do enjoy it, you can put the money you save towards upgrading internals like the barrel, motor, gears etc.

There is Ton BB gun shop between the railway station and the river, and classic Army gear near Tesco Lotus and khamtiang plant market. For 4,000 to 7,000 baht you can get what you want, and the people are helpful. You can message me on facebook, if you want to, I My son just started last week. 6,500 baht for a good bolt action sniper rifle and a large package of bbs.We went to Ton, he doesn't speak English, but is quite helpful, stands by and services what he sells. There are no resstricctio0ns on what anyone can buy, you just can't open carry, or transport it out in the open.
