Replacing a lost Thai drivers license?

Applied for a Thai drivers license about six months ago...

A few days ago I lost my wallet ...and naturally the license along with it..

Can anyone tell me the procedure involved in getting a duplicate?

There is a thread here on THAIVISA  but it's nearly five years old.

I applied for the license  here in Chiang ,Mai ,,,which is where I am now.

Appreciate any advice,

thanks.

Lost my license a couple of years ago. Simple process...report the loss to the police and get a 'police report'. Head down to your local driving license office, show them the police report and follow their instructions. I found it relatively painless. Maybe take a bottle of water and something to read just in case there's any delays.

What nobody mentioned is:
- take your passport, WP (if any) etc. along too; they might ask for photocopies as the just love photocopies
- if you have a copy of the license you've lost it helps
- see the office of original issuance; facilitates matters although the DLT are interlinked these days
- come nicely groomed with that "perfect-son-in-law" outfit and smile as they take a new photo of you

With all that you usually do not need a water bottle; had mine replace in less than five minutes; there is a nominal fee of a few hundred Baht - et voilà

Did you get the same dates or did they give you 5 new years?
