Louvered window service/repair

Featured Replies

Does anyone know of someone who services/repairs louvered windows? I'm in a house just outside the Old City and all the windows are of the louvered type. I suppose that's great for ventilation but there's a problem. Not all of the work properly or at all. They are in various stages of (dis)repair. In fact, it's such a pain to close and open them that I don't use the air conditioning.

And yes, I did search the forum before asking because that's what right looks like. Maybe my search skills are as good as my windows?

Thanks, all.

Is it just the winding mechanism thats worn out?  I bought one recently in Home Pro for just a few Baht.  They are simple to fit.

Quick follow up. Since the aluminum place is close to my house, I went there first. Cmsally, it turns out the winding mechanisms I'm replacing are the same ones as in the red packaging. Cost was 65THB each. Good price. Dellboy218, I didn't make it to HomePro, yet, but I will look for them there, as well. Always good to have 2 resources. And you're right. They are simple to fit -- once I wrangle the steel bars on the windows. The actual mechanism itself is indeed easy to replace.

So again, thank you both for your very helpful suggestions. Perked up my whole day!
