Army to identify bogus rice farmers

SURIN, 18 November 2016 (NNT) - The 25th Military Circle Commander Major General Akaradej Boontiam said anyone who pretends to be a farmer in an attempt to make money will be prosecuted according to the law.

Maj Gen Akaradej has instructed all military forces in Surin province to identify silo owners who have reportedly been selling their own rice by claiming that the grains came from the farmers. He noted a certain group of middlemen in Bangkok had also been involved in this scam.

Some Bangkokians, who wanted to help the farmers, were led to believe they were buying the rice straight from the farmers when in fact the grains were actually from the silos.

Buyers in Surin are encouraged to a take picture of the farmer they are buying the rice from and submit the photo to the 25th Military Circle or relevant agencies if they want to make sure he or she is a real farmer. A secret investigation is also underway.

Meanwhile, Army Chief Gen Surapong Suwana-adth has ordered certain military units to crack down on people smuggling rice from a neighboring country into Thailand and to reach out to those farmers in need.

RIght. Rice matters are very important. But perhaps the army should also start to seek out and deal with bogus prime ministers. That might be a good idea. But where to look? Hmm. That's a real tough one. No - I can't see any of that species around here   ....!

Try at the Supreme Court’s Criminal Division for Political Office Holders.  There's one on trial there.

Has the Chairman of the Rice Committee been warned of corruption with the rice pledging scheme? Doesn't this sound very familiar except this current Chairman is protected and will not be charged or receive any executive order to pay for losses.

Just another of your boring attempts to twist with no facts or logic.

Why the army, well it would be a waste of time asking the BIB to get off their collective arse's  and investigate- a brown paper bag of rice just wouldn't cut it.
