Ghostly girl fined for sitting on top of moving taxi

By Coconuts Bangkok

The woman who was filmed sitting on a moving taxi as calmly as a ghost has been identified by police, and she turns out to be just another human with troubles.

Deputy commander of Huamark Police Lt. Col. Nopporn Srisuchart said today that the woman stopped by for questioning after her ghostly stunt terrified and distracted the motorists on Rama IX road on Sunday.

Without mentioning her name, Nopporn said that the woman was fined THB500 for the way she rode the vehicle, and the reason that she was sitting on top of a moving taxi is because she had a "quarrel within her family."

One of my Thai students a while back told me "I ever see ghost before". When I asked her for the details she said it was a girl on top of a taxi. :saai:

And the taxi driver was punished?

As calm as a ghost?

What idiot thought this was a ghost?

Netizens?

The 21st century word for gullible morons.

Ahhh... that all encompassing Bt500 fine...

There is something distinctly odd about this whole story.

If you look at the attached video, and there are several around, it is clear that this is not a genuine Bangkok taxi. It has a white license plate (all taxis have yellow plates , ( see 1:12 on the vid clip). It has no number or name on the side and no Taxi Meter sign on the roof.

If you disagree with my observations, please comment otherwise. Thanks.

Ah the sun thought it was a ghost. That explains the stupidity of the thinking.

Maybe she thought it was a motorbike taxi. You never know, if she is mad enough to do that who knows whats going on inside that dense head.

To quote the coconuts article:-

The video, which was taken by MCOT photojournalist Powarit Katkul, shows the eerie woman sitting calmly on the trunk of a pink taxi in the middle of the night. As if it wasn't creepy enough, when the cameraman got closer to the taxi, the woman looked into the camera and pointed her finger in the direction of the people inside the taxi.

No, the woman sat on the back of the taxi was angry that some nosey journalist on her way back from work was pointing a mobile phone at her and filming. She then pointed or gestured that the nosey journalist should move on.

As for the ghost story and the sun newspaper. It sells newspapers.

Could not punish the driver because it is well know that you cannot see a ghost in a mirror, so his rear-view mirror would have been clear

Seen a few weird things in my time..... never a calm ghost though

Stay on the ball and read the original article before using the keyboard.

Police have contacted the taxi driver, but he has not reported for questioning. The driver could face a three-month jail term and/ or a fine of THB10,000 maximum for reckless driving, Post Today reported.

At least for not wearing a seat belt, if nothing else.

Maybe this girl was in training to become a ghost, or at least a corpse  :shock1:

Looks like another example of wanting attention...and guess what, she got it.

Yes next time she pulls a stunt like that she now knows not to do it infront of a journalist's car.

I 100% guarantee you she did not think a car was a motorbike.

People assume there was thinking involved? :shock1:

Should make the most heinous crime of the year list. Maybe even the Golden Ghost award.

That´s a long story. Maybe they will investigate and bring a court date for that at the end of 2017.

And you read the story?

She should have said "Because I angry with quarrel with my family, ghost come and steal my looks, then ride on taxi". Considering how many believe in ghosts, this might have been accepted.

She could happily take a ride inside my car anytime she chooses

The sort of people who habitually pass comment and express their opinion online, or engage in back and forward online debate, like on ...................thaivisa.com.

Nah, there's a difference between using an online forum and living in online forums.

It's like the difference between those who express an opinion in a local paper and the mad vicar of dumbassville, county idiot who bombards the paper with lunatic views on the world.

Just another exhibitionist attention seeking woman trying to seek fame on the social media. Surprised she didn`t go all the way and get naked to gain more likes on her facebook.

Just a bunch of idiots.

...so the cameraman just happened to be there to witness this phenomena..should be charged at least 250 baht for instigating.

Whether it's a taxi or an ex-taxi is irrelevant, the girl on the car's boot is the important bit.
