tompelli
Worked 3 years straight in PRC & bought myself this on return. Maserati 3200GT twin turbo 370BHP, 230Km/hr on the bypass, apparently it will do 270Km/hr but too much like a video game for me.

Rdrokit
Forgot to mention this one. Not my fastest car but I really loved it as they only made 49 of them and I had probably the last one running. 1961 Pontiac Catalina, high performance 389 (303hp solid liters 4 barrel carb), manual 3 speed plus all the heavy duty suspension and brakes. They were made for the Georgia State Police to run down moonshiners. Fun car. I converted the 3 speed on the column to 4 speed on the floor. Yes, that's me in my younger state. lol

sgtsabai
Come on TA, fire 'em up. First fast car, brand new 1963 Chevy Impala SS, 4 spd, 340 HP, yep the small engine, 409. Before changing to 4:11 I ran it up to 130 with 4 other people screaming bloody murder in the car. I ran it pure stock, B/Stock. Greatest victory, over a 406 Ford that was NOT stock but still running B/Stock. Rigged out to the max, slicks, traction bars, etc. and sandbagging all day long. It was a great day, the track officials did it right, no one brand against the same and a huge field. Down to he and I. I wasn't going to run but some of my friends from my home town said run him, he misses 2nd gear and you never do. We'll pay for the tear down if you loose. OK, for once I got the brown beast off the line and got the jump on him, he missed 2nd and I was gone. At the very end I could see and hear him coming, sandbagging was over. I beat him by a length at the timing light and he came around me like a rocket at the 2nd light so no ET. When I came down the return road, window and door open, hot as hell, everybody was on their feet and the cheers and applause was thunderous. Oh my oh my did the beer flow freely. The brown pure stock SS beat the sandbagging Ford. I kept that trophy until the day I left the states. The only pic. I had was up in deep E. Texas with my grandfather and I beside it. I had a '70 Chevelle, 4 spd. alleged 300 hp. that ran 14 off the show room floor. Last but not least, '02 Camaro SS, 340 hp that would run circles around the old '63. 12.68, 110 mph !/4 mile, basically stock. On the road I shifted into 6th at 150 mph, never found the room to finish 6th. A few simple mods and I would have had an easy 11 sec. car. But alas, I was supporting much of Issan by that time...lol. seancbk
Had a Porsche 928 S4 in Hong Kong, never got to drive it over about 130 km/h (30km/h over the limit) and only for short bursts when overtaking and confident there were no speed cameras. Always loved that car. Now I'd either have a Porsche Panamera or a Toyota Vellfire (Alphard) van. Don't want to drive myself, much rather have a driver and just tell him where to take me or pick me up from. A Vellfire would let me take a few friends, which would be much better when going out at night.

Magic car. I once had it at 250 KPH in the Australian outback with 5 baby emus in a box on the back seat. It was the fastest those birds ever flew. OK, OK, I know they can't really fly. stubuzz
Started with minis and moved up to a Mk2 escort with works arches and a 2l pinto. Moved into fiesta xr2's then Mk3 escort turbos. My favorite was a e28 BMW which i converted to take 325 engine and running gear. You could heel and toe burn out on the spot up to 70mph and then take off like a scalded cat. Unfortunately, after several accidents insurance companies no longer wanted my business.

sgtsabai
Rdrokit, you stole my car...lol. Mine was daily driver also. The Nito's went on when it was time for the strip. It did have the "factory"-SLP high performance exhaust system and had I known a hell of a lot more like that was available from SLP when I ordered the car. Never had the T-top off and had SLP subframe connectors and different traction suspension in the rear. That damn thing would twist itself into a pretzel if I hadn't have. Just a handheld programer, never got it really tuned on the dyno. Hell I couldn't have afforded the roll bar dropping into the 11's would have cost. TA, I didn't...lol. On the other hand, I had no crew and no foxy chick to bring me to the line. I came to race. Oh, amazing the old ice on the manifold (we also put a coffee can full of ice around the fuel pump back "in the day") still works with FI. At least down in the humid, hot swamp country. That car was the perfect daily driver. Fast, fun to drive and got good gas mileage......for a V8. The 6 speed was the best. It was like a 4 speed with 2 overdrives. 5th I think was .7 and 6th was .5, 90mph in 6th gear the engine was only turning 2000rpm with 3:73 rear gears. If it wasn't my daily driver I would have gone to 4:10 gears. Edited November 25, 2016 by Rdrokit
