How would you know what they've earned or otherwise?   Another fully reasonable comment keeping up the Thaivisa standard.  Could you explain rationally why they are "idiots"?  No?  I thought not.

 

Even wealthy families have at some stage had to earn it, it doesn't materialise out of thin air.

Maybe not phone numbers however every person can nominate their own vehicle registration number for a fee. I have no idea of the number of these 'vanity' plates on the road however it is quite a lot.

 

When you have a superstitious population like Thais (actually most Asians) money is always involved.  Just look at the frenzy around lottery numbers.
