Great shots of the ladies guys.  That young girl selling sarongs is stunning.   I am always gobsmacked by Asian beauty.  I can't help but think if she grew up in my country she would have a persistent vapour trail of guys following her around around.  I have to mention again how very lovely it is to see workaday women and girls who are not draped in ridiculous brand names and t-shirts with nonsencial English phrases painted on them.

Anyone wish to agree with me?

In one of the previous posts I was asked for pictures of Myanmar food. Looked for it and found some.

The system all over Myanmar’s local restaurants is that at the entrance there’s food on display. Usually a variety of vegetables, meat and fish. You point to what you want, go inside the place looking for a table and after a few moments the food is being served. Usually you get some fruits for free. Also free is the water.

Here's a few pictures to show what I mean.

Great photos guys.  Wish I had your talent.

Halfaboy, how much for a meal in the plastic chair restaurant.  I am curious as to how prices compare with Thailand.

Sunset near Bagan, The Irrawaddy river...  the long boat carries people back and forth to other side, which takes about 10 minutes.. @about 30 baht per trip .

I still have hundreds of photos to sort yet...  just not going to burn myself out doing it!

Amazingly beautiful.

Sorting out takes a lot of time as every picture has it's memories....

Myanmar: two more food pictures.

First one is taken in Bhamo during a festival in the Shwe Kyina Pagoda. It's food for the monks.

The second picture shows food in a restaurant when on may way from Mandalay to Monywa.

Burmese "street food"... actually one of several Monastery  events that went on in "Sandy Village" (Magway area) while I was there.

Seems the women have the men well trained, cooking and doing the dishes!

Burmese food is generally not so spicy but can be very oily

The hairless guy, "Wangton" was my tour guide, this is his home village. He's worked as tour guide on Samui for years, and off during low season... It was his family / relations we stayed at on the tour around Burma ...

They let the old ladies out!

There is a pecking order when it comes to eating at these events... Kids are last!

Some of these ladies were in to their 80's and 90's...  and then the younger generation... with pink football!

As I showed before: this photo copy (without the child) I found in an abandoned house in khlong Samwa (Bangkok), a bit of Googling brought me to the photo of prisoner 246 with her child! I cannot put this out of my mind anymore!IMG_7610 fs 1024x600.jpg450d-3850-20_12_2008 fs small.jpg
