Heated Pools?

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

I used to go to the heated pool of the physio faculty in MCU but now it is closed. Does anyone know of other heated swimming pools in Chiang Mai?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about that.
In Australia indoor pools for lap swimming are heated up to about 26-28 C.
I have checked water temperature at the pool where I swim, and it was 30 C at about 4pm, despite cold nights.
In cold season nights are cold, but day time is still quite hot and sunny, so I would guess water will not go under 26 C.
I'm very surprised there was some heated pool in Chiang Mai at all.

Unless the pool is covered by a roof right now it will be 26 + degrees, or there abouts, at all pools.Thats about 3-4 degrees warmer than the current surf temp in Australia and its summer and 1,000's surfing

Obviously late afternoon the water gets warmer, providing the sun is out. One of the benefits of living here you can swim all year round

You say that you used the pool at the physio facility I would presume this is a hydro therapy pool rather than a pool to swim any distance in.

As  this type of pool tends to be in the range of 34-35 deg c I would certainly doubt you would find such a public facility such as this.

If it is the higher temperatures you are looking for I would suggest you contact the major hospitals and ask if they have a Hydrotherapy pool.

Some top of the range spa facilities may be worth a try.

If a small jacuzzi-like pool to relax in is what the op is looking for, the "hot spring" in san kamphaeng also has a small pool that was quite hot if I recall correctly.   Big enough to swim a little back and forth also.

Hi everyone, I simply use the physio pool for exercise. I will try a regular pool in the afternoon in the coming days. Cheers.

There is a physiotherapy pool at CMU that is open. I don't know if it is heated, but it is indoors so I would imagine it is. But the patients who use it are severely disabled/handicapped, injured, or children with brain damage, etc. So I doubt anyone who is able-bodied would be allowed to use it.
