Submit your photos for the 2017 Thaivisa Calendar

 

Continuing the great work done by Tywais and team in previous years, it's that time of year for starting the design of the 2017/2560 Thaivisa Calendar.

 

Previous calendars, 2010-2016, were a great success due to the excellent photo contributions from Thaivisa members.

TAT predicts 5.5 billion baht revenue from 370,000 tourist arrivals during New Year’s festival

BANGKOK: -- The Thai Tourism Authority has forecast that 370,000 foreign tourists will visit Thailand during the New Year’s festival between December 31-January 3, generating revenue estimated at 5.5 billion baht.

Police to look for soccer fans who fired flares at Suzuki Cup championship match

BANGKOK: -- Hua Mark police have been ordered by Metropolitan Police commissioner Pol Lt-Gen Sanit Mahathavorn to investigate and to find out the soccer fans who fired flares into the air during the championship match of the AFF Suzuki Cup between Thai and Indonesian soccer teams at Rajamangala Stadium on Saturday night.

Princess Sirindhorn presides over charity walk-run event

BANGKOK: -- Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over a charity walk-run event on Sunday morning organized by the Faculty of Medicines of Mahidol University to pay tribute to the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.

 

Proceeds from the event will go to a fund for the construction of the Navamintharabopit building at Siriraj hospital.

 

The running event was divided into two categories: 12-km distance from Siriraj hospital onto Arun-amarin bridge to Rama VIII bridge, turning left to Rajdamnoen Nok, rounding the Royal Plaza on the way back to Siriraj hospital via Arun-amarin bridge; and 6-km distance from the Royal Thai Navy auditorium toward Arun-amarin and Rama VIII bridges and returning through the same route to the destination at Siriraj hospital.

Students hold protest against cyber law in defiance against government’s warning

Two Malaysians arrested in Thailand over drugs haul: Report

 

BANGKOK - Thai authorities have arrested two Malaysian men and seized almost 100kg of heroin and "crystal" methamphetamine that were found in their possession, when they were stopped at a checkpoint in southern Thailand last week, Malaysia's Bernama news agency reported on Sunday (Dec 18).
