There's more to learning a language than the bereft advice above.

 

If what what2do suggests were true, think of all the guys who would be fluent in Thai considering that they've been hanging out with people who speak Thai for years!

You come to Thailand to learn Thai and not learn English.

 

The average Thai can't speak simple English. English is transformed to chunks of vocabulary not linked into proper sentences.

 

The irony is that most English teachers in Thailand are native English speakers. Their way of teaching is totally wrong as they teach the same way as first language students in USA.

 

I suggest you go to Malaysia or Singapore for better English teachers. They have higher English proficiency test scores. They can teach better than the native English teachers in Thailand (sad but true)

 

 

Why not take a look at what the AUA has to offer.  From what I can tell they have classes graded for one's level of competency.

The British Council probably used to be "the best", but I'm not sure these days.
