Really Good Thai Restaurants ...?

Featured Replies

I'd love to know more really Thai places. The sort of places that all the Thai people seem to know, but, unless you have a Thai partner, as a farang, you'll never get to know about.

I know several. Like the excellent Sabeinglae near the Grandmother/Grandfather stones turning in Lamai.

The Issarn Talay seafood whatever (!) on the ringroad, somewhere around Lippa Noi.

All the places on the beach at Ban Makam (except for Big Jiew which is still keeping open, even tho it's now derelict)

Jit 1 (original - in Nathon on the junction of the Middle Road) plus Jit 2 and now Jit 3.

And the duck restaurant in Nathon, too.

Kho Seang in Mae Nam (crab meat oh yes!)

Gai's in Mae Nam (her name is actually Kai, but she liked the illuminated sign from the pharmacy and asked for a copy!)

Bang Po Seafood ...

There must be a hundred others! But where? No problems with tin roofs or plastic tablecloths - I just want more places where the (Thai) food is good enough for the local people to go there to eat.

I'm not interested in Pizzas or burgers or fries - just the real Thai places.

Any suggestions, here??

Cheers!

Rob

Ranong. Opposite 7-11 on the lake road going into Cheweng itself. Run by thais and frequented by thais. Just had a facelift but kept the plastic chairs and tables.

Best thai food I've eaten
