Alleviating international concerns about Thailand, carrying out functional works and shaping human rights and the nation’s trade direction globally will likely be the main the Kingdom’s main obligations in the coming year.

For the third year since the 2014 coup, the junta government will continue to assure foreign entities of how democracy will be restored to the country via their designated “road map”.

A crucial landmark will be the general election, currently planned for late next year.

Not going to happen.

An excellent Voice of America story on Thailand's appalling Human Rights situation (and the uphill battle to change it - think Defamation lawsuits and Computer Crimes Act - here:

Dear Falang world,...... we do business with China and North Korea only in the future....:cheesy::cheesy:

"...Government faces another major balancing act..."

Given the challenges identified in this article by The Nation, it's going to need a really class act to stay up there - but, these clowns are certainly no class act, and they are already looking a bit wobbly.

So, a few more balls-ups, and we're set to see a spectacular nosedive !!!

I'm afraid that they have the lid screwed on so tightly (and they aren't done yet) that it scarcely matters how many balls ups they make. It looks to me increasingly like little short of tremendous violence, which I do NOT advocate, to dislodge them.

The current clowns in control do not have the credibility to dissuade any government founded on personal freedoms that Thailand is changing for the better under their leadership.  They have very little credibility inside Thailand.

All the governments in the world have bouncing balls in the air while balancing on the high wire. Lets hope there is no bouncing ball collision.

The form of democracy here that is being peddled will be a hard sell to the rest of the world. Somebody should show the powers that be films from the outside world so that they better know/understand what they are dealing with. Its time that Mr. P. washes the hand that shook the hand of Mr. Xi

Mr. P is only intent on creating a better quieter Chinese state lured by an outdated view of Chinese wealth. The yellow book as a guide on how to run Thailand PLC. We'll see how much luck he gets with that in the coming months. He's got no thoughts for human rights or democracy so.. he's well on the way I think...

Unfortunately, nobody at the top is debating or carefully considering how Thailand would best be governed for the sake of the country. Everything we are seeing is the natural result of naked self interest by a small group of elites who rule by force and intimidation.

Enforced disappearance is a worry or waking up dead in the morning, all traits of Thailand for centuries , even happened up at big daddy's place, 60 odd years ago.

Under the guise of performing for the public good.
