Here is my problem of getting a visa extension (NON-IMMIGRANT VISA obtained in France).
I am of French nationality, Retired, 62 y.o.
I applied for and obtained from the Royal Embassy of Thailand in Paris, a VISA type NON-IMMIGRANT category '' O '' with a single entry, allowing me to stay 90 days in the country.
I entered Thailand by plane on November 11, 2016.
Immigration granted me the right to remain in the territory until February 8, 2017.
I would like to extend my stay in the Kingdom until April 3, 2017.
How could I get the extension of my visa and stay longer in the country - under 2 months ? Can I do this without leaving Thailand ? Where do I go to make this application ? Which Immigration Office? Chiang-Maï ? What documents do I need to show or submit ?

Thank you for the reply.

You can get 30 days at your nearest Imm' office 1900 baht then 30 more by doing a border/airport out/in.

Probably best to have a flight ticket home and 10/20,000 baht cash to show for the final 30 days.

What was your non-o visa based upon?

If marriage to a Thai or being the parent of a Thai you can apply for a 60 day extension to visit them. If not there is no extension you can apply for and would need to leave the country for a 30 day visa exempt entry that can be extended for 30 days.

There is no 30 day extension for a non immigrant visa entry. Only a visa exempt or tourist visa entry can be extended for 30 days.

Oops. Was thinking about multi O based on being married and that would be 60 wouldn't it?

Yes if married to a Thai or have a Thai child to visit.

Hi members,

i got a problem to get my 1 year extension of visa-O (based on marriage) because the landlord has not filled the tm30, the notification of residence.

And my landlord is difficult to reach, she barely answers phone call.

How can i get this sorted out? I have appointment friday morning at immigration.

Submit the TM.30 in your own name, since you are the House Master, ie the chief possessor of the rented residence in your capacity as the tenant as defined in Section 4 of the Immigration Act.

No, the immigration specify that it needs to be filled and signed by the owner.

If i could fill it myself it would be done today during my appointment. I have to hunt the owner to make her fill the form. grrr...

If they insist the owner completes the form, give them her contact details and ask them to follow it up.

Under the Immigration Act you should be able to complete it as the 'tenant'

Give the IO the two options, if he's still refusing your extension ring 1111 to complain whilst he is sat in front of you.

Sorry to answer so late.

I got my non-O visa because I am retired, over 50 Y.o.

Are you sure it is still possible to leave the country, by air, even for one hour or one day, come back (by plane) and get an exemption stamp valid for 30 days, which I could extend for 30 days at the immigration office in Chiang Maï.

Thanks again.

Yes.

Leave on Feb 8th to maximise your Visa.

Return and get 30 day Visa exempt entry which can be extended 30 days at Immigration, which will take you up to April 8th.

Hi, I have a Non-Immigrant O visa, single-entry, based on volunteering.

My Non O visa expiry date says 24 Jan 2017.

My stamp from Chiang Mai Airport upon entry says "Admitted until 31 Jan 2017" (I landed/entered on 3 Nov 2016)

1) Is it possible to get an extension on this type of non-imm O visa?

2) If an extension is not possible, do I have until the 24th or 31st to leave the country?

3) Can I make a land border crossing at Mae Sai and go into Burma for the day and receive a 30 day visa exempt stamp (that is extendable by 30 days at the end if I so wish?) Or is flight in/out the preferred option?

Thank you in advance for any insights.

1)  No, as your Visa is already "used"

2)  You are allowed to stay until the 31st

3)  You can get a Visa Exempt entry for 30 days, but be prepared to show 20,000 THB in cash at a land border. You also MAY BE questioned to show a proof of onward travel within the 60 days . . .

My o non immigrant visa is based on retirement for 90 days, can I extend by 30 days from Jomtien soi 5 immigration or only 15 days as some people tell me? & then another 15 days= 30 days , 2 payments of 1,900 bahts would probably have to be paid.

The only extension you can apply for is for one year by showing the financial proof needed for it.

You can apply for an extension without any supporting documents, pay the 1900 baht fee and then be granted 7 days to leave the country after it is denied.
