Hi all, can i seek you kind help please for those who are good in English and Thai ? How to translate the meaning of "i can't help falling in love with you" to thai ? Thank you so much

This is something which would baffle a Thai even if they knew English. One explanation for. Help meaning refrain I couldn't help laughing ฉันอดหัวเราะไม่ได้ I wonder if you could change the verb, ฉันอดรักคุณไม่ได้

This is sort of an idiomatic phrase/concept combined... I doubt there is anything that will work directly or even close to directly... in a word for word manner.

 

If you want to express a similar idea, you are going to have to cut to the concept... and then work back out from there.

 

The best I could come up with at the moment would be - - " because you are so lovely,  I love you more every day... "

 

prorwah koon nahlack mahk, pom luk koon mahk gwah took wan... 

 

sorry, it is a nice phrase in English that just may not be translatable directly into Thai... you have to be creative.

I think that it's natural to want people to understand us, so the question "How do you say this in Thai?" is often answered by inserting the English equivalent words into the English sentence which probably won't mean anything to the person we want to understand us. Context is the most important thing and by that I mean 'delivery' and if you can't speak Thai you are never going to be able to 'deliver' the message properly. However as a means of learning, Thai questions like this are very good and discussion should continue for some time after the poster has long gone, sadly many learners have often also long gone". Byeeee.

อดตกหลุม 'resist falling into the hole' .
Surely nobody would intentionally fall into a hole so why อด?
The expression ตกหลุมพราง literally means "fall into a disguised hole" the hole becomes a trap.
ตกหลุมรัก is it a good thing or a bad thing? I think it is whatever the hearer takes from it and therein is the danger in using it. ตกหลุมพราง also means that you were deceived by the camouflage.
ตก is not a good thing to suffer so if you use it, have you already set a bad scene?
What I am trying to say is that the best thing to do at my level is to say as little as possible.
ฉันรักคุณ น่ารัก คิดถึงตลอด etc.

Google proves that Thai speakers are forever trying to find out what English 'means' and by this means the Thai changes to 'mean' what the English 'means' but for how many people?
So when we discover a direct translation like ตกหลุมรัก for "fall in love" can we be sure that a non speaker of Thai can be as convincing as Google was for those who read it?

I asked my 'expert' and he said "ห้ามใจไม่ให้รักไม่ได้ which looks like prevent my heart giving love can not. Then I mentioned ตกหลลุมรัก and he latched onto it immediately as "fall in love", explaining that everyone knows it from songs poems etc. I think that it is interesting that it didn't immediately come to mind. He later just repaced ให้รัก with ตกหลุมรัก.

I wouldn't presume to judge, the song lyrics say Fall in love and he has used what people know to mean that.

wise men say there are foolish people only hurry hotly, but it help can not in that that way fall in love you go already.
if ฉันนั้น is ตกหลมอย่างรีบร่อนไปแล่ว it seems to fit the bill, had he not been hasty he might have seen the danger.
