More exam cheats uncovered in the other police bureau

BANGKOK: -- Police found 30 suspected cheaters in the entrance examination for enrolment into police academy of seventh provincial police bureau, Pol Gen Detnarong Sutthicharnbancha, acting deputy national police chief, disclosed on Wednesday.

Out of 4,182 people who applied to set the exam staged by the 7th provincial police bureau, 3,746 actually sat for the exam. 500 passed the written exam while the academy will accept only 250 openings.

The other bureau where cheating was found was the metropolitan police bureau. Over 300 people were suspected to be involved in the exam cheat. They are divided into three groups: the plotters, hired candidates who sat the exam and allowed their answer to be copied by other candidates and candidates who paid to ensure they passed the written test.

Pol Gen Detnarong who was assigned to head the probe into the exam cheat said the panel would propose to the national police chief, Pol Gen Chakthip Chaichinda, on January 16 a few options about how to resolve the problem – scrap the entire test or partially scrap the test.

New flash.... exams cheat is rampant and rife almost in any learning indentations

in this country, like a national sport activity, the copy, plagiarize, cheat and use

any means just not to put the efforts and time and this is why you have graduates

with high degree doing menial law paying jobs because everybody knows that those

degree aren't worth much....

The police in Thailand are probably one of most corrupt corps anywhere in the world. A report by the United Nations described them as organized criminals.

Rubbish!

They are one of the finest police forces money can buy............................;)

The cheaters actually passed the exam by the very fact they cheated.....well done

This is the caliber of people we want to protect and serve our citizens - cheating all the way to retirement

Protect and Serve?  Totally unknown concepts to the RPT.

Sack every cop involved in this racket. They were probably cheaters themselves and its payback time for them.

Pol  Gen Chakthip must first be sacked or resign. Then followed by his boss junta PM. It is a disgrace that nothing is being done to reform the RTP, the epicenter of corruption. Unfortunately, we have an unelected junta PM who can't be voted away and a police chief that is a favourite son of the deputy junta PM. Expect some musical chair re-shuffle just to cool down the outcry, followed by silence and all will be forgotten until the next big thing hits the ceiling and the same routine will soon follow.

As previously written in Thai Visa when a person becomes a police officer they have to provide their own uniforms, guns, bullets, radios, motorbikes, i.e. complete kit out of their own pockets.

This is not just a department problem it is a "government / country" problem.

The government apparently condones, and the police expect, corruption as normal operating procedure. Thus Thailand will continue to be a 3rd world country..

Anyone know if army/navy conscripts have to provide their kit out of their own pockets?

Yes they do.

The kit is provided by the army but the conscripts & volunteers have to pay for it.
