Construction Worker Struck by Lightning While Seeking Shelter from Heavy Rain: Pathum Thani
The incident occurred on October 9 in Pathum Thani when a construction worker was struck and killed by lightning while attempting to take shelter from a sudden downpour. The incident took place in Village 3, in the Sam Phrik Thai Subdistrict, Muang District. Mr. Ekkalak Suwangthuen, the head of the local administrative organisation, along with officers from the Sam Phrik Thai Police Station and volunteers from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, arrived at the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragedy. Witnesses reported that the construction worker, whose identity has not been disclosed, was gathering his belongings and seeking refuge under cover as heavy rain began to fall in the area. Unfortunately, as he took shelter, a lightning strike hit the vicinity, resulting in his untimely death. Local authorities and emergency responders assessed the scene and gathered details about the incident to provide further insights into the event and as investigations continue, officials urge residents to stay vigilant and seek shelter during inclement weather to prevent similar tragedies in the future. But the problem is these vehicles had seemingly been inspected or had paid people to say they had when they hadn't. All to save time as time is money to these bus companies , just look at the amount of crashes there are due to drivers being exhausted or on drugs to stay awake for all the hours they are required to drive . Like most things here it will be all show and look what we are doing to fix things for a month or two and then after that it will all be an afterthought until something major happens again.- 1

8-Year-Old Boy Drowns While Playing in Overflowing Water Weir: Kamphaeng Phet
The incident occurred on October 9 when an 8-year-old boy drowned while playing with friends at a water overflow weir near the Phanthumrat Bridge in Klong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet. The boy, identified as a student from a local community school, was playing near the water when he accidentally fell in. According to police reports, the incident happened around 15.00 when the boy and three friends were playing near the edge of the weir. Witnesses described how the boy slipped and fell into the rapidly flowing water, which was notably deeper than one metre due to recent heavy rainfall in the area. The swift current created a dangerous whirlpool that made it impossible for him to resurface. Upon realising their friend was missing, the other children quickly ran to nearby adults at a food stall for help. However, the strong current made it too risky for anyone to enter the water. They then called emergency services for assistance. Responders from the Klong Lan Subdistrict and the Kamphaeng Phet Volunteer Rescue Foundation swiftly mobilized over 20 volunteers and divers to the scene. The area, which serves as a local flood control structure, was crowded with onlookers as rescue efforts commenced. After approximately one hour of searching, the rescue team located the boy’s body. The atmosphere was filled with sorrow as the child’s mother and relatives were present, grieving at the sight of the recovery. Local authorities conducted a preliminary investigation and reiterated warnings to the community about the dangers of playing in or near hazardous water areas, especially during heavy rains. They urged parents to keep their children away from risky water sites to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
