Does Thailand have discount websites like Priceline or Travelocity? I need a cheap flight from Chiang Mai to Phuket or somewhere close to the Malaysian border.

Just a warning if your search takes you to tiket.com.

Don't touch it with a shitty stick. They caused us no end of problems and when I spoke to the airline they said they are constantly having to fix problems caused by them.

Sounds like you live and pay in Thailand?

Direct (nonstop) flight to Phuket with AirAsia starts at about 1900 Baht oneway on the AA website.

I did a single sample with skyscanner.co.th and got a starting price about 2000 Baht. And for that you are billed in USD, have to pay by credit card. I doubt you can save much (if at all) compared to booking directly at the airline and pay in Thai Baht (misc. methods).

Hassle free, no added risk.

Thai Smile, Thai Airways and Bangkok Airways much more expensive on the direct flight.

Maybe you can save a few bucks by changing at Don Mueang and do two bookings?

Personally I never booked a domestic flight via a "broker"/"agent".

Just seen: "close to the Malaysian border".

Chiang Mai to Hat Yai nonstop with AirAsia.

As close as possible.

The late evening flight starts at about 1300 Baht oneway.

Impossible to beat with changing at Don Mueang.

Prices at AA vary strongly depending on date/flight time.
