Thailand won 8 gold medals at 15th Asian Games 2006

DOHA, QUATAR: -- Head of Thai athlete Thana Chaiprasit (ธนา ไชยประสิทธิ์) conceded defeat in sweeping all 15 gold medals in 15th Asian Games 2006 in Doha, Qatar. Mr Thana said he had high hopes at the start of the Game since the Thai athletes are well-known for their skills and experiences in boxing and the male 4 X 400 track categories., Mr Thana was expecting atleast 10 gold medals.

Thailand currently ranks fifth with 8 gold medals. Meanwhile, People's Republic of China (PRC) came first with 110 gold medals, Japan, second with 38 gold medals, South Korea, third with 37 gold medals and Qatar, the host nation, eighth with 6 gold medals.
