He is completely above the law. All current officials are untouchable. None are being pursued. None are being arrested, tried, and convicted. None. Not one. The absolute agenda of this administration is to protect the elite, the powerful, the influential, the wealthy, and the current officials, whether they be in the government, the army, the police or any other form of power.

Was talking about this with the missus this morning. I mentioned that I heard that one of the paintings was of a Japanese porn star. I saw the picture of the painting in the news yesterday. Anyway, my missus got quite angry and said "That rumour isn't true. It's just a rumour!" To be honest, she was quite annoyed. I told her to calm down, and told her that if she said it's a rumour, I believe it's just a rumour (I could well believe it to be true or to be a rumour).

 

Anyway, I asked why she was so annoyed, and she replied "That guy is an idiot. He's embarrassed Thailand enough. No need to embarrass us even more". Now, my missus isn't the most patriotic woman in the world. She often criticizes her own country and people. But this story has really bothered her. I told her not to worry. People do stupid stuff all the time. It shouldn't reflect at all on you just because you were born on the same piece of land. People from other countries are always doing stupid stuff. Doesn't bother me. 

 

Anywho, get the feeling this guy will have lost a huge amount of face. Even more so on his return. I'm just very happy I wouldn't let something like this bother me. Life is so much easier when you don't care about what other people think.

However since he was presumably an art aficianado, maybe he thought the painting would increase in value in a short time.

Yes, a jazz mag conocer such as myself. Oil painting don't do it for me either. There's nothing like looking at the full spread in Asian Ravers. Gosh I had such a large collection of magazines back in Blighty. Treasured them, I did. Oil painting just don't raise the old flag pole.

A storyon this subject,on another thread says this .. "CCTV footage from the hotel indicated that he stole three landscape paintings from the ninth and tenth floors at the hotel."

So unless anyone considers that portrait of Saori Hari to be a landscape, I guess we've been led up the mountain path.
