replacement glass is a Samsung S6 edge

Featured Replies

Has anyone every used somebody in Chiang Mai to change the glass on a Samsung S6? I have the replacement glass, I've seen how to do it on You Tube but I prefer to pay someone with more patience than me to do it. ( More patience is easy to find, having expertise less so!) I have tried the place in Pantip Plaza and asked one in Kad Suan Geow but failed so far. Any help would be appreciated except for the 'never buy a Samsung' type of help.

Yes. I got Samsung to do it. They ordered the parts from Bangkok which arrived a day later then it took a few hours before getting my phone back. Very painless.

Because it is tricky to do, you won't find anyone doing it for less than 4000-5000 baht, they know the screens cost nothing on Ebay but fixing them is not easy! It is all to easy for them to wreck the phone in the process of replacing the screen and they don't want to be held responsible for wrecking an expensive phone, hence the reluctance to fix them! Go to Samsung!

Thanks, how expensive was 'painless'?

Know anyone that speaks Thai?

Proper cost of replacement not worth it as you could buy a second hand one for same/less.

Up to you - but if you decide to try the 'cheaper' option - first decide how much you are willing to spend.

Ask Thai friend to take it to one of those 'phone stalls' in one of the main Malls.

Get them to ask how much and how long, and if OK then give it a try.

It takes a while I am told, so expect to pay about 2,000 baht - and be prepared that the phone may not work - dont pay if it doesnt work of course.   If you take the phone to them they will double (at least) the price.

PS - reset the language settings to Thai and delete all your data/memory beforehand (if you can).

You will not get it for 2000bht! My wife tried to fix her S6. The S6 is quite tricky as the screen sandwiched.

They are not interested in fixing for less than 5-6k

True. It's not just a piece of glass. Half the phone gubbins is stuck to the inside of of it.
