webfact
Playboy models cry foul after seeing their images on dirty CDs! Picture: Daily News BANGKOK: -- Two Playboy models who posed for "artistic" pictures thought that would be a good way to promote their careers. But after they had appeared in a local magazine someone stole their images and put them on the front covers of several sex movie CDs, reported Daily News. Yesterday the two models went to tech police to complain that they had been hurt by whoever had stolen their images and used them to promote a sex movie. They want the police to find those responsible and prosecute them. Netty, 28, and Noinong, 30, said that they had appeared in Playboy Thailand magazine in January of last year. They had been featured on a page for aspiring amateur models called Playboy Asian Model. But last month a friend of theirs had said they were both featured on some CDs and that the language around their pictures was obscene and suggestive. They had a sneak peek of the movies and found them to be men having sex with women. So yesterday they went with their lawyer to demand action confirming that the images were their own. I wonder how they will pay the coppers to spring into action ? Cash, or an alternative payment arrangement ?
SaintLouisBlues
"dirty CDs"? They mean "sex CDs" surely? Or is sex now dirty in Thailand?
Smiley Face
OMG! Men having sex with women!! Unheard of! Surely not in Thailand? Dirty, dirty, dirty! This could tarnish not only the image of these two "models" but Thailand's puritan image as well.
ezzra
What the ' ladies ' are saying is that if they were paid, they'd happily allow their images to be on any CD, dirty or not... and perhaps, if you pay more, even IN the CD....

Poor girls! Their good reputations have been tarnished, now they need to capitalize on the evil ones.
CelticBhoy
I wouldn't have put pix of women aged 28 and 30 on the front cover. Unless they were under the <deleted> category . . . .

jerojero
I'm sure the police need to see the evidence on the dvd's. And compare them to the covers. For a thorough inspection of course.....
rkidlad
Well, in a country with extremely soft views on copyright laws, and a former head of intellectual property stealing pics, what did they expect? No one asked my permission in my work when they put my pics on their Facebook page and homepage. Again, ladies. Go to the police without having the press there. You have a genuine grievance but this isn't the way to go about it.
chrisinth
They could be Toms. Or Dees. Imagine if someone took one of your photos and put it on the cover of a gay porn DVD; I just bet you would be highly impressed with that little stunt.................... In all seriousness though, IMO they are quite right to go chasing the people who used the images. Not that I think they will get too far though. DoctorG
It may well be that they signed away their rights with the first job. Perhaps did not read the agreement.Just speculating of course.

Emster23
Do dirty movies even qualify as "intellectual property"? NextStationBangkok
Both look really beautiful. I see lot of magazines have half nude pictures, women posing holding b00bs in hand. Where is the scam ? I am sure they will be popular soon. Probably it is a scam created by them to get popular by going to press and hit the headlines. Where can i buy the book or CD ? fullcave
But I thought porn was illegal in Thailand. Isn't that the reason they attempt to block porn sites? And now you are telling me they are available on every corner in China town where they are plainly visible to all including school children that happen to walk by? Not to mention the dildo stands. Guitar God
There was a female Thai celebrity last year whose photo was used without her permission on the cover of a book about hookers in Thailand who sued and got the books recalled. Playboy is a softcore swimsuit model website, there's a difference between voluntarily posing for that, and having someone steal your photos and put it on the cover of a DVD of teenage anal cum guzzlers. I don't think they are saying that at all. Their images have been used to promote a product they do not wish to be associated with and they want it stopped. Good for them. humqdpf
Unless Thailand has a law against theft of copyright, this is clearly a civil matter. It is also possible that the folks to whom they sold the rights to publish their naked photos on Playboy may have also sold those photos on to the so-called "dirty" CD. Whether this was a breach of contract or rights is unclear and would be settled in a civil case. The involvement of the police adds nothing to their case other than as a publicity stunt!
