Footage shows woman washing elephant with sponge in river in Thailand.

 

Clearly unhappy at being touched, he reacts by throwing her into the air. 

 

Woman is seen getting up at the end of clip, seemingly unhurt.

That could have easily have been a serious injury or even a fatality. There seems to be around one dead or seriously injured tourist every year due to elephants. The dangers of interacting with elephants is habitually underestimated by tourists and habitually downplayed by the Thai tourism industry.

If any body in the profit chain gave a damn tourists would not be exposed to male elephants for a start.
