daveAustin
He'd get less for piloting a plane drunk, crashing and killing 50 people.

ezzra
And not a mention of rank demotion, so I guess he'll continue to be a vice marshal and resume his post in couple of years time as if nothing happened, like the ' forgive and forget' smiles and hand shake all around that Thai people loves so much?..... Srikcir
To be fair Chidpong's sentencing and fine is excessive when compared to army Three Star General Manas who was charged as a "kingpin" in Rohingyan human trafficking. Manus was arrested in June 2015 while he was an Advisor to Prayut. To date there has been no prosecution. I suspect the military will allow him to be sequestered until his retirement with full benefits. Seems rank does have its privileges in Thailand. spidermike007
Does anyone notice that anyone who is arrested or convicted here is always an ex officer of the army or the police? Is a current officer, or a current minister, or a current CEO ever arrested or convicted? No. Why? Protect those in power at all costs.
Get Real
Positive that police, high ranking officers and more people in that scale actually get sentenced now. That didn´t happen 5-6 years ago. Still talking about the slow change that nobody else seems to see or want to admit. Just say something negative again, to get the pain out of your chests, lads!
