first time Thai people have ever had full control over anything in their lives and they take the power of that control to the the limit of i must go first. then you see the out come of moronic behavior.

Standard the car merging onto the main way is responsible and has to make sure he can do so safely. But with the pickup truck suddenly changing direction the taxi could not avoid it.

Who's the idiots voting for the taxi ?  The taxi did nothing wrong , he was not expecting a maniac from behind.

Fortunately the taxi escaped from a possible fatal accident.

There is a reason why overtaking on the left is illegal.

Where did you read it is illegal? On multi lane roads overtaking on the left is legal in Thailand.

It doesn't matter. What matters is that some lunatic is permanently off the road for good.

All occupants of the pickup survived.

Section 44

[When overtaking, the driver shall overtake from the right side, keep safe distance, and return to the left-hand side lane promptly.]

In the section about dual lanes you will read it is allowed.

Yes but I think that applies to passing vehicles in centre lane waiting to turn right.

What ever the law is does not matter because it won't be enforced.

Overtaking on the left?
It's perfectly legal to overtake on the left when there are two (or more) lanes travelling in the same direction.
From the Thai Traffic Act, B.E. 2522 (1979):
Section 45 (400-1000B)
[No driver shall overtake another vehicle from the left-side unless:
a. the vehicle to be overtaken is making a right turn or has given a signal that he is going to make a right turn.
b. the roadway is arranged with two or more traffic lanes in the same direction.]

Noting that the road shoulder isn't considered a lane (though everyone here treats it as such!)

easy, the blue car should have yielded for the car in front.  not rocket science.

the  taxi  should  give  way  to  vehicles  on  the  main  carriageway

Driving without due care to others is NOT allowed.... regardless of lane etc etc.

overtaking/ undertaking is irrelevant... the blue wreck was driving at excessive speed, beyond the average/ normal speed of traffic, and recklessly, and became a wreck.... surely that should be enough to crucify the MF

Guys.... at days end, it is encumbant on all road users to drive responsibly and with due care to others.

both the taxi driver and pickup, failed in this respect.

but... the truck was way way out of line, leaving himself no options / outs, by driving recklessly, and therefore he is .... lucky to not be dead.... only rev heads could condone / excuse this behavior.... and those voices just  dont count for poo.

The real question is where did the truck go after the fall?

to the body shop, back on the road in a  week or two,  just needs a  lick of paint  although I heard they changed the colour for good  luck and retrieved the one amulet outta  the guys arse for the same reason

Which s not the question I was replying to.

Please stop stalking me with the same. Undertaking is allowed in Thailand, whether you like it or not.

Undertaking.... or overtaking, is illegal when you are speeding.

anyone who suggests otherwise should be banned from driving... everywhere, not just in thailand
