That was the early day's

Think that'  how they used to spike your beer without you noticing

It wasn't too terribly long ago. I saw most of the idiocy at Nana Plaza in 2001 or so, yet saw some CRAZY stuff off Walking Street in about 2006, as in a live sex show.

I was out with a couple friends, wife was in Surin, & they had a live sex show.

Not really my cup of tea, but I was just yapping w/ some old friends.

I'm immune to pornography. It does nothing for me.

Anyhow, the woman is getting porked onstage, live, by a Thai guy, and he did something that pissed her off in the middle of the act.

She jumped up, grabbed a bathrobe & some flip-flops & took off down Soi Diamond.

One of my two buddies, handed us his check-bin & asked us to cover it (no problem Bro), and took off after her with a raging hard-on.

He wound up keeping that gal 2 DAYS!

She was an older gal too, but I guess she was experienced. He wound up happy & she came out a few thousand baht richer.

Never took my daughter into a Walking Street bar dude.

Don't be crass.

I DID let her sit at the bar with me at Jameson's Pub once in North Pattaya.

It was lunchtime & I took her pretty much everywhere I went when she wasn't in school.

I ordered a draft beer (and some lunch) & the barmaids went nuts over a ha-sip, ha-sip curly haired kid.

I got my little girl a glass of ice. That kid can eat ice....LOVES IT!

Took her & my wife into a Tranny show once off 2nd Road. They were just dancing.

The star was some athletic Thai guy that would dress up in drag and lip-sync Tina Turner perfectly.

Heard it it all now....take your wife and child to that area.....great Educational start....

Sorry, but not my idea of a Good Evening...

Sorry, but not my idea of a Good Evening...

It's an open air restaurant off 2nd Road Robert.

It was a comedy show for crying out loud!

One guy that looks like an NFL linebacker playing Tina Turner & a bunch of harmless katoeys on the stage.

The guy that played Tina came over & had a drink with us after the show, sans the wig, yet had a bit of lipstick still...Which I found even more comical. He spoke great English.

No harm, no foul. We had a few drinks & parted ways.

I was there with another American friend, along with his wife & daughter, and we just had a fun time.

Nobody got robbed, mugged, raped, beaten to a pulp.

The kids enjoyed the show.

At least the katoeys here were professional, and not out picking tourists' pockets, were gainfully employed, and the male actor was just that. An actor.

Pattaya is always a circus!

Not too familiar with Pattaya. Maybe someone can help. Is the 'Happy Zone' near the 'Happy Ending Zone'?

Go to Soi 6 and/or Soi 6/1.

Oh yeah, be careful about any "AMAZON"-looking women, as they'll most likely be a transvestite.

Any Thai "woman" over 5' 6" tall is probably a man.

Pattaya to set up ‘great place of happiness for tourists’ after critical sex trade report

By The Nation

Chon Buri

In an attempt to restore Pattaya’s image, authorities are launching a “Happy Zone” area in the seaside town next week to make the resort a better place to live.

Chon Buri authorities are setting up the zone in Walking Street of the resort town. The official launch is scheduled for March 25.

Chon Buri police chief Pol Maj-General Somprasong Yentuam on Monday night called a meeting with representatives of 100 business operators in the Walking Street area.

During the meeting, he asked entertainment and business operators to cooperate by installing CCTV outside their properties so that they could be “the electronic eyes” that can help to gather evidence when crimes are committed.

He also asked business operators to ensure tourists were not attacked or taken advantage of for any reason, adding that the swindling of visitors such as padding bills was prohibited.

“Otherwise, it will destroy the image of Pattaya,” he said.

My wife and (at the time 3 year old daughter) quite enjoyed Walking Street 8 years ago.

We'd have a steak at the Right Spot Inn restaurant (get the flamed Kobe steak filet)....just keep the retard w/ the flames away from your little girl....I had to tell them that, as it never occurred to the waiter.

They whoof it up at the table with some kind of brandy sauce.

It's killer.

My daughter just loved all the lights and music.

We'd just have dinner & go for a walk/stroll down Walking Street.

I enjoyed the street shows with the mimes & the magicians.

Of course we never hit the bars, but Walking Street has its charms in the evenings...sometimes.

In bed by 11:00 PM & never had a problem in 7+ years of visiting Walking Street.....Err....My girls would be in bed & I'd have a few shots till around 1:00 AM across the road.

I could walk out the door in any US tourist city and be in trouble at 0300 hrs though.

Yes Pattaya is filthy, unorganized (unless you're talking about crime), and the local BIB are mostly as lazy as a wormy soi dog, yet I've had some great times there.

So your analogy is being in bed in pattaya by 11 pm and any tourist city in the USA at 3am??  I don't get it.

Many tourist cities in USA have all bars closing by 2 am including San Francisco and Boston.

You cant say pattaya at 3 am is safer than many USA tourist cities at 3 am. Tourist areas in the USA have police out and available to help with anything for free!  They are almost always in extremely safe neighborhoods. They also have CCTVs  that work. Just read TVF on occasion and Pattaya at 3 am is far less safe than almost any USA tourist city/tourist area.  You can't even compare slightly.

I just know my limits.

I get drunk & go to bed, get up & have fun with my wife & daughter the next day.

I don't drink and drive, & don't stay out all night.

I don't stumble around Miami nor Chicago nor LA at 0300 hrs drunk.

I like drinking. I also like living. I never said anyplace was safe, nor that you should adhere to my code.

I just feel safer when I'm curled up next to my wife in the middle of the night, and turn out to be a better man the next day!

If you want to run the streets anywhere you want in any urban area, then, by all means Sir, "Move out & draw fire".

Any thug/lowlife after you is one less after me.

---------

Edit... I never said Pattaya was safe. Baghdad & Yemen & Kosovo are probably safer. I've been in all three when mortars were being lobbed in.

"This will ensure that Pattaya will be a great place to be for the whole world to enjoy", said chief Somprasong. "

Does that include the prostitutes? Can they come out of hiding and enjoy it too?

And forbid, the ladyboys?????

....I would have thought there was an excess of happy zones in Pattaya already...........some erogenous and some erogerinous.

Ad nauseum buddy....

Did you just fall off the turnip truck?

If so ask for advice, but saying all of Pattaya is/has been a happy zone has been obvious for decades.

I suppose the sky is blue as well, and when it rains things get wet.

I was already in my own Happy Zone, before this nonsense started. I wonder how much it is going to cost owners to be in these zones.

Is their own playground going to be included, all the local places on 3rd road, Naklau, is the Thai Soi 6, off Sukhumvit behind the Esso Gas station included?

I'm not sure I understand this happy zones. Are they in areas without brothels and bar girls and massage parlors with happy endings? Are they just wanting to crack down on the street crime and lady boy hassles in front of all these places?

Bringing "Happy to the People"!

Too little - Too Late!

Pattaya City; Authorities and Business Owners, have neglected their responsibilities to the safety and wellbeing of their customers for far too long.

They have already killed the goose that lays the golden egg!

“Otherwise, it will destroy the image of Pattaya,” he said

This is the funniest bit to be honest !! Pattaya image  has long gone from being anything remotely respectable .

This effort!! which will be forgotten about after a few weeks will do nothing to remove the image and reputation the place has got and also in case they hadn't noticed Wlaking Street isn't Pattaya ..So what about the rest of the place ??!!
